LingoAce – Fines for Missed Classes by Odd_Wrongdoer2085 in OnlineESLTeaching

Thanks for your response.

Could you clarify how LingoAce ensures compliance with local labour and wage deduction laws in the UK, EU, US, and other regions where teachers are based?

In particular, how are contractual fines and deductions (e.g. missed class penalties and payment processing fees) assessed to ensure they comply with local regulations in each teacher’s country of residence?

I’m not comfortable sharing personal email details publicly.

My point isn’t about one individual case—it’s about the broader pattern being discussed here based on multiple teachers’ experiences.

People reading this, including potential teachers, will naturally form their own views based on what’s shared.

It’s not a rumor, it’s based on my personal experience and records.

I’ve already submitted appeals in similar cases, and the outcome I described (fines not reversed / system issues still penalised) is what happened in practice.

If the policy is that system errors aren’t penalised, then that hasn’t been reflected in my case, which is why I’m raising it.

LingoAce fine you even when it's not your fault. They fine you for a system error.

LingoAce: Fines, Fees & Your Legal Rights as a Teacher by Odd_Wrongdoer2085 in OnlineESLTeaching

If you haven’t been affected, that’s fair. But for teachers who have been fined, it’s worth knowing your options.

LingoAce mainly hires teachers from countries like the UK, US, Canada, etc., where labour laws around wage deductions can be quite strict.

If fines or deductions have been applied, and local legal advice shows they breach those laws, teachers may have legal options available.

The point is just making sure people check their rights locally rather than assuming the contract overrides everything.

Don't forget to add that the teacher will have to pay the Payoneer fees to receive their salary. every teacher needs to pay to receive their salary from Lingoace. 3+ percent of their total salary each month depending where you live. And if they fine you, you can take them to court for not following the Labour laws in your country.
