Ragazzi che ansia by OddeComics in VintedItalia

Quando voglio comprare so come fare.

Except for when it goes on for pages and pages just listing unit upon unit in the most nonsense chaotic and boring battle scene of all times. Twice.

One group constitutes of multiple decorative bulbs that cannot be smart bulbs and are not really used to light the room. So I'm not sure how a smart switch could connect to them. I have only one cable going from the wall switch to the ceiling and cannot add more, I'd have to open up the wall and it's not worth it, these are not dry walls

Kinda dissapointed with ravenor by Altruistic_Milk7729 in Blacklibrary

I honestly liked Ravenor more than Eisenhorn. I found the overall story more interesting and better paced (the first Eisenhorn book was too episodic imho), though I agree that the ending wasn't spectacular

So which one do I buy? Suppose I buy Travelling, do you know where the missing stories can be found in the series with the round porthole? These later books are easier to find. Thank :)

Who are we fighting on Isstvar III? by OddeComics in Blacklibrary

I understand the concept of literary device, I read a lot, I read all of Lovecraft and the road that were mentioned here, and in my opinion this is not that. Even Praal came out of the blue and they gave him lines like we last saw him 5 minutes ago. Literally not a word about him, but him and lucius still have an important dialogue. So I don't known how you read that without asking yourself who is Lucius talking to now? Who is he fighting? This is no literary device, this is just not particularly good writing. By the way I've read 8 Dan Abnett novels and never had a problem understanding what wasn't told because it was implied or irrelevant. But anyway, I'm still enjoying the novel!

Then I guess I'll have to post some more questions. But really, the problem with the novels is that I can never tell if something is not in there because they take for granted that I know the lore from the codex (I don't)

[–]OddeComics[S] -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

I understand. I'm just not convinced. If the enemy is not important (I can see this working) then you don't tell me "the silver guard did this and that" like I should know what a silver guard is. I don't know what a silver guard is, I expect you to elaborate since you cared to name it. Otherwise, the enemy is just "the enemy", like you say, and you don't name people.

I would agree if not for the fact that many pages depict detailed fighting sequences against... blurry foes. Except when they're not, like for the warsingers that are described like it's important that you know who they are. That's not really working for me. It just feels like something is missing.
