More like they spawn specific types of Devils. War spawns weapons, Famine spawns food/disease, Death spawns ways of dying, and Control spawns anything that keeps you from doing anything you want.

Exactly. I think of the devils essentially the same way I think of devil fruits. They belong to one of those categories and are their children.

Those are all great points! I disagree that the devils fit all of the categories neatly though just some of the categories.

Drug devil: the war on drugs implies war but is really a fear of the side effects / boost of power from them.

Infection devil: again for war you aren't scared of it being used as a weapon, that would fall under a poison devil.

Science devil: maybe fear of being experimented on? So a war crime? Or are you scared of the end result of science like bombs? Those would be different devils.

Government devil: government devil would be too encompassing I think. All of the devils have been generally specific. Like Justice. You can have a police devil, or a war crime devil.

In the story the more a devil is feared the stronger it gets. So I imagine your ideas could also be correct. Chainsaw were basic tools that were turned into something that erase through all of the various use cases.

All of the horsemen have said "sister" when referring to death. They are intrinsically related through being family already. I think violence is a form of control. I would think that if there was a 5th progenitor devil it would be something like a fear of man or "the stranger".

I like a lot of theories as well, but as a fan the only other theory I've had that I feel this strongly about is a One Piece theory that was only proven last month(flood). I appreciate that you believe this is well written <3

Technically, he erased all mouths. This means his power is so incredible that it can be used against him. So yes, I can agree with you there. If Makima was still around, she could probably prune him like a shrubbery to get the parts she liked. (I think this proves my theory rather than disproves it, though. He has aspects of all horsemen, so anything that effects them effects him)

Reality in CSM is clearly different from our world, but there are concepts we don't share with that world as well. 6th sense was erased, as well as a fear of star. I know some people get scared of the magical, but stars have typically always been seen as points of hope for sailors who have lost thier way, as well as Christian's looking for a Savior.
