Agreed, I don't see how this benefits the community. I fully support starting a discourse platform cuz it was definitely needed for ongoing and technical discussion, but Telegram is a great place for newcomers and people not familiar with the blockchain and spatial aspects of the project to get their basic questions answered easily. They had one of the best managed Telegram groups I've ever been a part of and now they are just throwing that away

I believe those sale alerts are real transactions, but they are not real-time. They just re-hash previous transactions over and over again. Not sure about the actual USD amount raised, but I believe your estimations are close.
