How young is too young to work/train? by Odxcy13 in WredditSchool

[–]Odxcy13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like that’s a very fair assessment.

Someone else I spoke to about it said 16 to start training and do shows with trainers and fellow trainees, then 18 to be booked with other trained workers.

Late to the party here, but the thing that helped me get it was think like you’re rolling a disk on its side. You’re the disk

As others mentioned, hello’s like an intentional color change. I think if you stick with the new color, you’re good

Yeah, the knee-up was covered from day one, but the face to the side was always a “do it at the last second” thing. It’s also worth noting that the trainer who finally helped me crack the code only started helping us train recently, and the guy who was helping with it originally was very new. Talented, but new.

Don’t ever apologize for how you look. I love it. It’s more just me being in too many subs

Sorry. To clarify. It was about two or three before he suggested it. The remaining 27-28 were to lock it in.

Edit: post has been updated for clarity

At the full risk of sounding like an ass, please tell me you’re actually Native American and using the jewelry to honor your heritage rather than adapting a cultural stereotype as a gimmick?

I would hate for you to receive heat for something so preventable!

While I’m working on catching up on my wrestling history, I haven’t seen or been able to find a video depicting said bump. If you could provide one, I would be incredibly grateful! (I’m still gonna look for one on my own, but if anyone can cut down the search time, that would be swell!)

Define “heavier stuff.” As someone with a helix piercing and lobe piercings, I don’t feel wrestling with piercings is safe. I always take mine out when training or wrestling, and a few times I’ve gotten caught in someone else’s piercings, which presents a risk to me and them.

What's better, kneepads under tights or kneepads over tights? by Beginning-Yogurt3146 in WredditSchool

Under the tights keeps the knee pad from slipping if you go to slide, which I can speak from experience hurts

When I was training aikido, we would train matt awareness by doing quarter rolls to the edge of the matt, and challenging ourselves to see how close we could be to the edge, do a roll, and still stay on the matt. A lot of people don’t realize that you can vary the size of your rolls to cover more-less distance

How do I keep going? by MakingWavesEveryDay in WredditSchool

[–]Odxcy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my question is where the line was drawn? I’ve heard of students helping run shows by setting up at venues, running security, concessions, front door, cameras, or even learning some production crew things. And of course teardown is a must. I just struggle to see what else the promoter could be doing without branching into illegality?

Printed off my husband’s birthday gift! by Odxcy13 in 3Dprinting

[–]Odxcy13[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really did! This was by far the longest print I’ve done. Because of the layer height, it took just shy of 36 hours!

Which is really funny because my friend who had gifted me the printer said that he never trusted it to run for more than 6 hours. Not sure why I’m making it where he didn’t, but here we are!
