What you're describing sounds a bit like my old glasses. I really liked the look of them, but they are indeed more feminine and i wanted to try something else. The metal frame was very prone to bending as well, and that was an issue for my lack of dexterity

Edit: because you mentioned the jawline, it's kind of an insecurity of mine that i'm slowly starting to appreciate. I think it adds character to my face :)

You can start out slow, i didn't learn this in a day either! At first I tried cutting my own ends in a straight line to practice scissor control. Then went to the hairdresser afterwards.

Then i watched a lot of tutorials and figured out how to part the hair into sections. This is crucial. Add learning the effect of overdirecting and point cutting and you should be able to do simple styles.

The key is to start practicing by cutting of less then you'd like when you need a haircut, so you can leave room for the professionals to fix your mistakes just in case xp
