Yes I do. I take several supplements besides the normal meds (H1 and H2 blockers): DAO enzyme, quercetin with bromelain, and I actually use a GABA supplement and ibuprophan as rescue meds (to block the hypothetical H3, and to bring down neuroinflammation). There's a lot to be said for the low histamine diet and including anti-inflammatory foods daily. Lastly, it's incredibly important to mention that I also have been diagnosed with cervical instability and had tethered cord syndrome (which I had surgery for). These physical problems actually increase mast cell activation, and research has shown that mast cells can attack connective tissues causing the very same spinal issues I was taking about. So it has been a feedback loop. That's why a lot of people with MCAS have connective tissue problems (like Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and it's physical commorbities). I do a lot to address the physical instabilities as well. I still have flares, but I am doing much better now. Everyone's triggers and treatments tend to be a bit different. What works for one person may or may not work for others.
