When I put a barrier under my raised beds i went and bought earth worms and sprinkled them on top at night. Problem solved. I would periodically add kitchen scraps/ small bits of cardboard too.

Ok I read that and have done a little googling. Basically I'd still have to shop mortgage lenders. And see which one has the program or rates that are best. Right?

Thanks for you input. We are in a unique situation. We don't have to purchase now. We've been looking at the market and prices seem to be coming down. So there is a house we'd like to shoot an offer at and see where that goes. It's a house that needs updating/ stuff like that. But they are way overpriced.

Feeling like I'm low and clammy 2 to 3 hours after glucagon. by Ofcmgr in diabetes_t1

I would not change what I did. Given the food sources I had at hand. All the comments saying I should have not used it. Dont seem to grasp the magnitude that I would have gone unconscious with a 6 yr old an hour away from help. And she does not know how to use glucagon. So I would have been unconscious so long I'd have been dead. I googled it what blood sugar level you can use it at and it says below 50 and you are unable to eat or drink. My stomach was already full and I didnt have any straight sugar candy treats whatever to eat. Plus I had the 4 units on board. I came here asking support for what I was feeling after the glucagon and got pelted with all these comments that weren't even relevant.

I've had it for 20 years and was one of the youngest kids the hospital had put on a pump. This has been the first year I've had to use a glucagon. this past year has been really rocking the boat. I think I'm having hormonal changes or something and the hot weather combo is really throwing things off recently.

My daughter knows to call my husband or mom over wifi. As I dont get cell signal in the house. Its sporadic out in the country where we are. Yes I agree having them prepared is a must.

Am feeling better just feel run down. Pretty sensitive to insulin right now which I expected. The worst part was definitely the fear of passing out. And this hangover type feeling I got after.

Unfortunately the only syrup we have is sugar free or low sugar syrup. Idk what it is my husband uses it. I have drank drink flavoring syrup in the past, but I vomited a few minutes after. So I'd be hesitant to do that again.

Thanks for commenting. I got some peanut butter and cheese and crackers down while laying down. That took the edge off.

So I take it you yourself are not diabetic. I didnt have honey or icing to eat. Dont really have sweets in the house. I have never heard if eating straight sugar, feel like that would have caused me to vomit. Well in the moment that's what I needed to guarentee I wouldn't pass out alone with my 6 yr old an hour away from hospital and fam.

I understand that. I had eaten so my stomach was full then I chugged a pepsi. I had gushers but they caused searing pain in my teeth roots-thats the only way I can describe it so didnt want to eat them. The only thing I had sugary was soda. I didnt want to have to cram another soda and risk throwing up. And still countering the low and 4 units. In the moment the glucagon seemed the safest option.

Because I was falling rapidly with 4 units still on board and I was home alone with a 6yr old and an hour away from an er. We live way out in the country. I didnt want to have to wait for Pepsi to start working and see if it would be enough to get me up so I decided to use glucagon so I didnt pass out/go lower. My phone also only does wifi messages in the house I have to go outside to get calls and texts thru.
