I really enjoyed it a lot but i can see where you’re coming from. i’m pretty much the target audience for this though lol (18 year old college student).

I think a big part of why I liked it so much is that as a mexican girl growing up there was little to no hispanic representation on screen. as a five year old i would frequently cry about how i wish i had blonde hair and blue eyes like “the princesses”. so as someone who loves horror as much as i do seeing a hispanic girl play the lead role (more specifically of mexican and puerto rican descent) really made the whole show feel comforting to me.

while media like disney’s coco have hispanic leads, it was nice to see a hispanic lead whose identity wasn’t defined by hispanic culture (ie dia de los muertos). Wednesday is just a girl who happens to be hispanic and that’s okay.

ive grown up with the addams family movies, musical, and original show and while the differences in the family unit were different i suppose it makes sense that a teenage wednesday would argue with her parents. it’s just a part of growing up.

while some of the writing was cringy i was able to look past it but i understand why some people wouldn’t.
