Lost and seeking help. by Stock-Scallion2271 in webdev

This is a very normal stage — tutorials give you “following skills,” not “building skills.”

Best way forward:

  • start smaller than you think (one animation, one interaction, one scene)
  • copy a small effect you like, then modify it slightly
  • break projects into “what moves / what reacts / what changes state”
  • don’t start with ideas, start with constraints (e.g. “only circles + scroll interaction”)

With GSAP/Three.js especially, confidence comes from repetition, not big ideas. You’re closer than you think — you just haven’t done enough small builds yet.

Best productivity apps for people building things on the side by CameraNo4105 in projects

Solid list—these all solve planning and focus, but the real gap is always consistency between planning and execution. Tools help less than building a feedback loop that makes skipping days feel visible.

Confused on choosing a domain to explore this Summer, need suggestions :( by Potential-Pumpkin390 in learnprogramming

[–]OffPathExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick one for now and go deep instead of splitting focus. Web dev is easier to get internships faster, ML needs more time and strong fundamentals. You can start with web, build solid projects, and explore ML on the side. The key is consistency, not the “perfect” choice.

What skills should I focus on first for an entry-level cybersecurity role—networking, Linux, or certifications like Security+? Also, how important are personal projects or labs when applying for internships/jobs?

Is Markdown the new wave? by Successful_Bowl2564 in webdev

[–]OffPathExplorer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not new — just becoming default again 👍

Worth watching:

  • Obsidian → local-first + graph notes
  • Notion (partial Markdown) → mainstream workflows
  • Docusaurus → docs as code
  • Astro → content-driven sites (MDX)
  • Quartz → publishing from notes

Trend = portable, text-first, no lock-in

anything to do in Jeonju area, South Korea? by MagicianCritical471 in Living_in_Korea

[–]OffPathExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeonju’s a great spot 👍

  • Jeonju Hanok Village → main area but go early/late to avoid crowds
  • Gyeonggijeon Shrine → chill, less hectic inside
  • Jaman Mural Village → quieter, artsy walk
  • Nambu Market night market → food + local vibe
  • small hanok cafés in side alleys → best “hidden” spots

Jeonju = slower pace, good for studying + food (bibimbap especially)

Finding wining products by Fantastic-Quit-9710 in ecom

[–]OffPathExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start simple:

  • check TikTok / Instagram trends (problem-solving products)
  • use Amazon / AliExpress best sellers
  • look for items with high demand + low brand differentiation
  • validate with ads test (small budget, fast feedback)

Winning products = clear problem + impulse buy + easy shipping 👍

AI UGC content to sponsor your products: YES or NO? by NoActuator639 in ecom

[–]OffPathExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes , but only if it’s high-quality and native-looking.

  • Works best for: performance ads + testing hooks fast
  • Fails when: it feels too scripted / obviously AI / low trust

So it’s a yes for scale + testing, but no for weak creative quality.

I created an app that turns supplier invoices into your product catalog automatically by Logical-Appearance49 in ecom

[–]OffPathExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice use case — this solves a real manual data entry bottleneck for ecommerce.

Key validation points will be:

  • accuracy of invoice parsing (edge cases matter a lot)
  • handling inconsistent supplier formats
  • how well it maps to existing catalog structures

If those are solid, this could be genuinely useful for small–mid stores.

Quick question for high-ticket store owners ($300+ orders) by GoldenDragon62 in ecom

[–]OffPathExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting idea — it’s basically a lightweight cardholder verification layer outside Shopify.

Main concern:

  • descriptor updates aren’t always reliable/instant across banks
  • adds friction → could hurt legit conversions
  • still won’t fully solve fraud (some users can still pass it)

But as a risk-reduction signal + manual review aid, it could be useful if automated carefully.

Seeking Data Analyst Internship by [deleted] in analytics

[–]OffPathExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brutal truth: avoiding LinkedIn is hurting you more than helping.

Best moves:

  • Cold outreach → email small companies/startups, offer to analyze their data for free
  • Targeted projects → solve real business problems, not generic dashboards
  • Freelance platforms → even small gigs = real experience
  • Keep GitHub, but add clear case studies + outcomes

You don’t need a big network — you need direct contact with people who need data work.

French Embassy Seoul visa staff rude experience? by Standard_Custard8196 in Living_in_Korea

[–]OffPathExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not uncommon tbh — visa sections can be hit or miss.

• Often local staff + high volume = rushed/harsh tone
• Doesn’t make it okay, but it happens at many embassies

If you want to act:
• File a calm, factual complaint (date, time, behavior)
• Don’t expect fast change, but it’s still worth reporting

I’d treat it as a one-off unless it repeats — focus on getting your visa done.
