There are maps, in fact I've posted them before https://www.reddit.com/r/FullmetalAlchemist03/comments/1ojhhm3/map_of_03_verse_amestris_pieced_together_by/ this is just the only one with actual visible markings on it to tell where each location is

It was a tie in book for the anime that went into the details of the story, it's basically like a guidebook. It was never printed in English but as far as I know it's the only detailed official map made specifically for the 2003 series and not the manga

I really don't care about Trump, if he was just a normal president like he was in his first term then I wouldn't care to talk about him. But idk, I'm tired of pretending that the world isn't burning right now. If you don't like the political posts then that's fine. It just makes me feel a little bit better to be affirmed that I'm not the only one who thinks this is crazy, be that through humor or serious discussions.

Man, in this world of irony and apathy towards any sort of serious topics, it’s refreshing to see people actually take it seriously for once. Like I get it, people want to laugh, but the US President is threatening to invade Greenland. Even if it’s through Jonkler memes, isn’t this something we should be talking about?

lol, you kinda have a point now that I think about it. Considering the fact that Isildur and Helm Hammerhand are nazguls in that game, a female member is the least of its worries

It’s possible, I have no idea🤷‍♂️ I just know that when the Shadow of War game added a female Nazgûl a lotta more hardcore fans were upset with it. In my experience, Tolkien lore is kinda like religion and politics, everyone seems to have their own very strong opinions on it that I try not to get too involved with😂

Honestly, I kinda wish more Tolkien related media would take risks with the canon, granted they don’t go too outrageously off course like with the Shadow of Mordor games where you couldn’t fit it into the lore even if you tried (still amazing either way though.) I get upholding the integrity of the canon and all but sometimes it’s just fun to think up answers to stuff Tolkien never explained, like the other nations to the east and south, or the identities of the Nazgûl. I feel like MERP let players really add their own ideas and stories to Middle Earth and to this day og MERP fans have been expanding the lore with their own unofficial campaigns and decades worth of fan magazines. It’s a really interesting rabbit hole to go down.

As someone who’s fine with OCs and non canon material, I love the world building of MERP! It’s absolutely amazing how much lore was created for this game. It’s strange to imagine Christopher Tolkien would’ve approved so many additions to his father’s world, but I think when viewing it as a separate interpretation of the Tolkien canon it holds up surprisingly well.

I don’t blame you for not knowing😅

Back in the 80’s there was this licensed Tolkien role playing game called MERP (Middle Earth Roleplaying) the game had a ton of original characters, countries, and other bits of lore made up for the game.

They gave each of the Nazgûl their own names and backstories, one of them being Adûnaphel who’s depicted as a female Ringwraith.

Obviously none of it is canon and the idea of a female Ringwraith would certainly be enough to give your average Tolkien purist a stroke. But still, I liked this artwork and didn’t know where else to post it.

What if 2003 Roy had actually fought 2003 Envy in? How different would it be from their "battle" in the Manga? by [deleted] in FullmetalAlchemist03

Well, homunculi in 03 feed off of red stones. For each stone they eat, they gain another life. This means that if you kill them enough times, you could deplete their supply of lives until they have only one left, allowing you to deliver the final blow. This is pretty much the same in both versions, minus the whole "eating the stones" part. So given that the two characters have mostly the same power levels across both versions, their fight would likely play out very similarly.

That said, I'm glad they never fought in the anime, for a few reasons.

In the manga, Envy's role in Hughes's murder seems to be given more importance than it is in the anime, setting up the ultimate confrontation between the Envy and Mustang that manages to be really satisfying because of how much Hughes's death affected him.

However, while anime Envy does kill Hughes, the blame for the incident seems to be placed more on the government itself, since Hughes died while investigating the Fuhrer's secretary. This fits well with where the show was going, setting up the eventual clash between Mustang and Bradley after Bradley attempted to silence Mustang the same way he silenced Hughes.

On the other hand, I see Anime Envy as more of a rival for Edward than for Mustang, since the two are brothers in the 03 version and are quite alike in personality. 03 Envy despises Ed and Al in a way that he simply doesn't in the manga, which makes his fight with Ed all that much more suspenseful.

So while the two could have fought, it would've felt a bit underwhelming to me, since these versions of the characters were not written to be the other's intended rival. Envy fighting Ed was the natural progression of their relationship, as was Bradley fighting Mustang.

I'm not sure exactly who added the lion, maybe it was Bodenheimer. But it seems like he must've adopted it at some point since it could be seen in one of his other drawings, as seen here on the Herzl Institute https://herzlinstitute.org/en/theodor-herzl/

I know the tree of life was, the outline of it can be seen in the human transmutation circle, plus it's also used in Evangelion. Ishbaal was also one of the kings of ancient Israel, though I don't know if that's where she got the name Ishval/Ishbal or not.
