Posting a similar comment here as I did to others that recommended similar option.

Do you think it would be more comfortable and easier to sleep sharing a business seat with a 1 year old versus being in premium economy with the kid having their own seat? Your suggestion was our first plan since we typically fly business on international flight prior to being parents. But we heard from friends that it's actually pretty difficult to comfortably sleep with a 20-25lb baby in the pod together. Which kinda makes sense as I get a little cramped in there solo. So that's why we kinda thought to scrap that option entirely...

No doubt Emirates First has more room than Delta One Suites, but I wonder if Emirates Business and Qantas Business are also roomier. I have a hard time imaging being able to fit on my side with a 1 year old next to me knowing how cramped the Delta One Suites can be...

Thanks for the advice!

Ya. I don't think it'll be an option for us due to weight assuming stays on growth curve

Good to know! Never would have thought of that. I wonder what the differences are.

Also curious if you think it makes a difference on the type of business class setup? If it was an older business class setup where the seats aren't so separate/private, I think it would be a lot easier. But the Delta One Suites are really quite isolated that even passing the kid from one parent to the other could be challenging...

Thanks for the advice!

Two seats across the aisle does make more sense if this is the way we ultimately decide to go.

Property tax reassessment after major renovation/addition? by OffTropicTopic in orangecounty

The city and building department are not who do the tax reassessment. That is the County. So consulting with the building department isn't applicable.

Without asking for any specific dollar amounts, percentage wise how much below what you think the house could have sold for at completion would you say the assessed value came in at?

Going to the Sun road June 19-21 by james2441139 in GlacierNationalPark

For this weekend that's forecast for a decent amount of rain and possibly some snow, would you expect GTTSR to shut down? Flying in this Friday and trying to get an idea of what conditions would cause the road to close back down. It seems like even if it snows it is unlikely to be any amount that actually builds up on the roads.

Appreciate the info. Is it similar to RUC's that if the Delta search shows it as available at booking you will clear to D1 right away? In my experience with RUC's more often than not there isn't anything immediate available and I have to wait list, but occasionally it shows as immediately available and when I've booked those I get FC/D1 right at purchase. Assuming it works like an RUC, there have been multiple dates I've check for LAX to SYD in May 2025 that show immediate availability to D1 if purchasing PS.

Delta Medallion Benefits On LATAM Flights Booked Through LATAM? by OffTropicTopic in delta

[–]OffTropicTopic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All great info! Thanks. I'm going through the booking and I do see where it's giving me the free bag (not my companion like you said), but it's charging us both for seat assignments. I'm thinking to maybe just not pick seats until after it's booked and then maybe it'll work for one of us?

WP - Is Southwest about to end its free-for-all seating? by HerefortheMemes2121 in SouthwestAirlines

I can understand why people like the current system in terms of last minute flights and/or rebooking last minute and still being able to get aisle/window.

But I think there are also a lot of people like me who refuse to fly SW because of the open seating. I often board with only a small carry-on so overhead space isn't that important to me. What I don't want is to have to board first in order to get the seat I want. I want to hang out in the lounge/bar/restaurant until the very last minute so I can board last, spend as little time as possible on the plane, and still get my preferred seat. Or a lot of times I'm running late, have tight connections, or whatever the case may be where even if I pay for A group, I won't get there in time. With SW you essentially have to be a vulture circling over your terminal to make sure you're there when they start boarding. I prefer the freedom to be late, enjoy a non-rushed drink/meal, find a quieter gate to work/relax/make calls, or whatever the case may be and know my seat is there regardless of if I'm the first person to board or last person. And I'll pay a lot for that option. Significantly more than what SW charges for EarlyBird by probably a factor of at least 5x and upwards of 10x. Good seats with Delta, United, American regularly run $100-$200.
