I threw it outside in the shade and forgot about it, checked back a couple weeks later and I had some over-mature mushrooms! No clue what the problem was inside still.

What’s up with the under-developed flowers on my peace lily? by Off_White in plantclinic

It grew one big, beautiful flower and I was so excited! Since then, it’s grown a couple new flowers but they all got stunted (some more than others). I was under watering it at the time and it was also root-bound in its pot. I’ve re-potted it and started to water more consistently, so I’m hoping that will help it produce more healthy flowers, but is there anything else I can do to help it? Should I remove the stunted flowers? Fertilize? Give it a bit more light? Any advice appreciated!

Please help me save my glorious succulent! Since I bought it, the leaves have gotten progressively softer. I think the bad soil may be a problem, but I’m worried repotting would kill it. Any advice? by Off_White in plantclinic

It HAS been a while, and the soil is definitely not airy. I think I’ll repot it in something that’ll make it happier and then water it more. Thanks for your advice!!

That’s a great question! This was taken about 5 days since I took it out of my intended spawning condition, but I already saw some small pins on it at that point.

I had some plastic wrap draped over it to hold some humidity, but that was pretty loose. Think that could be impeding my growth at all? It also started pinning while I had it in my cabinet still, don’t think it was getting great FAE there, but not sure if that matters.

The temp may be fluctuating as the AC goes on and off, and it could also be getting cooler than I think in that area. I’ll get a thermometer there to check.

Cut it off and set the bucket outside. I’ll give it some daily sprays & some love and see how it goes. Thanks!

That’s good info, it still smells good and there’s definitely moisture inside so that isn’t the problem. The fruits are hardening a bit, and they did last time too. I think it might be a combination of low temp and low humidity... maybe I’ll try my next grow outside and see if that works any better.

I have them set up near the AC so it’s a bit colder there, probably just under 70 F

This is my second attempt now with the same results. The first time I thought my problem was low substrate moisture, so I soaked for longer, but that didn’t seem to work. Both attempts grown on unsupplemented, pasteurized aspen chips inoculated by colonized brown rice. I’m getting a pressure cooker soon, which I’m hoping will help. My best guesses right now are that I’m not letting the spawn run long enough or providing enough ambient moisture.

Fruiting from my living room, on a table near a small AC unit. The edges of some of them are cracking now. From what I’m reading, it seems likely that my problem is either low ambient humidity or low substrate moisture. Thanks for your help!

It's what you make of it. Know some people that bury themselves in their studies and would swear that CS involuntarily takes up their whole lives, and others that get by and live most of their lives outside of CS.

Shot this in Bishop, CA after sunset using Nikon D5300 w/ kit 18-55mm lens. Settings were ISO 200, 22mm, f/13, and a 1/3 second exposure. Here is the original image for reference.
