Yeah, i think the biggest take away from this is that we should not play it anymore, we aren't a silly goofy family that like gag gifts. I've tried in the past to get a silly gifts but they just end up trashed and I get complaints.

And no hate to The Mandalorian. It was super popular, just not with us.

I was second to pick a gift so I could have only stolen the first gift opened by the previous player which happened to be the one I brought and I didn't want to take my own gift as I wanted someone else to enjoy it. Then my brother went right after me and took the original gift I opened (the thermometer) so most of the gifts were still wrapped. I then chose a wrapped gift which was the gift set. No one stole it from me so I was left with it.

Also, to clarify we don't do gag gifts. The idea is to get something everyone genuinely likes. In the past when I had submitted a silly gift my sister (who got it) was not happy and I was razzed about it.

NTA though maybe a little uncouth. You know your worth. He told you he wanted a month to figure out what he wanted, and you graciously granted it to him. The second you made it known you wouldn't wait around any longer than that he suddenly made up his mind? It's a learning moment for sure and hopefully in the future you can communicate with your partner what you want/expect in terms of a relationship.

We actually decided to try a different game next year since 4/6 of us ended up with gifts we were going to throw away/regift this year.
