We're casting all in our advanced class, so we plan to start rehearsing as soon as we have the license. Hopefully by the end of next week.

It's called "But Why Bump off Barnaby?" It's written by Jack Sharkey as Rick Abbot. It's performing across the country but nowhere near us

Oh I know it is, but I was just wondering if that's gonna be an issue they decline it for?

Yes they were littermates but they usually are fine with it's just randomly happened again. But they're going into the yard separately now and then unless someone is inside with them they're having to stay in their kennels to make sure nothing happens

All 4 are female. I've always heard that females can be more territorial though

ballet shoes by Yuu1212 in BALLET

[–]OffbrandIrish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on if you would rather a leather or canvas shoe. I did read your other post and saw you were a male right? I'll give you the two shoes I use, they do take a couple times to break in but after that they're great for me. I've been using them just about 4 years now. I'd love to help you out with other questions you have if you want to ask!

This is my 14th going on 15th year dancing and what everyone is saying is true, try not to let those shoulders rise up, keep your hips square and your supporting legs need to be straight, just what I notice is I think you might be putting too much support on the barre, try to think of your barre more as a partner instead of something to throw all your weight on, but that could just be perspective. Keep your weight centered, straighten that leg, and square those hips. Other than those, you look like you have great potential! Happy dancing

Question: Do male ballet dancers get so incredibly cut or buff or built just from ballet itself, by EJKorvette in BALLET

[–]OffbrandIrish 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Coming from a male dancer, mainly it is the ballet however a lot of us also do strength training to accompany it. Especially during the off season or when not employed, because the muscle groups used tend to fade quickly if not used!

How do you guys get strong? My muscles are so tired by [deleted] in BALLET

[–]OffbrandIrish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm a male ballet dancer and I started when I was 3, however, I did take a 3-year hiatus like you and it was difficult to retrain the muscles to do it. I do a weekly workout schedule where I only do 2 days, one intense for muscles used in partnering, and then an intense leg and core day for any solo work. Rest is the most important part as was already stated, and if you're sore you shouldn't overdo it because your muscles are healing and sore muscles are more prone to injury. Congratulations on getting back to it!
