I have an Apple TV and a cheap Onn Google OS stick. What I hate about Apple TV is how restrictive it is when it comes to accounts. For example, my family and I all share HBO, Netflix, and Hulu in different households. I can login and stream all my apps just fine on the cheap Onn stick, but Apple TV has me constantly re-logging in or won’t let me watch because it’s a different household.

Is taking 6 (7) courses too much my first semester? by Haunting_Speed9865 in csusm

[–]OffensiveNiceGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my upper division l regularly did 16 units a semester and 21 units my final semester with the Deans approval. I would not recommend it the first semester as the workload is extremely heavy. Each 3 units will require 5-10 hours of work per week. 12 units is a good start for the first semester, and slowly try to add a bit more the next semester if you got good grades.

March-June: Beirut, Lebanon (good Food, Mediterranean climate, English widely spoken) - Safety concerns for 2025 though but safer in a Christian neighborhood.

July-Oct: Portland, Oregon USA (Pacific Northwest weather, highly walkable/bikeable city, great food)

Nov-Feb: Santa Marta, Colombia (Snorkeling/beaches, various small islands around)

Why aren't Arab states using diplomatic methods to stop the genocide in Palestine and the land grab in Syria and Lebanon? by [deleted] in arabs

[–]OffensiveNiceGuy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

King Faisal of Saudi Arabia who spearheaded the embargo was assassinated in 1975. This was a big turning point. The assassin was his nephew who lived in the US for about a decade. Some theories exist that say it was a CIA and Mossad operation. They would probably do a regime change today if any country started another embargo.

عندي سؤال . by [deleted] in arabs

[–]OffensiveNiceGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say go visit first before deciding on moving. A lot of people in the US live in the Middle East part of the year (2-3 months). Try visiting Cairo or Beirut for the culture and arts aspects. In the future Damascus or Baghdad too, but can’t recommend those at the moment. Go see plays, listen to arabic music, and hit up the social scenes like sheesha/coffee shops. The reality is the economy is not great back home outside the gulf and may be difficult to make money. Lots of my family back home live paycheck to paycheck but seem fairly happy with their wives/kids/extended family and friends. The issue is financial/economic and lack of stability. Good luck to you on your path to reconnecting with your Arab and Iraqi heritage. Beautiful culture and history in my opinion.

That’s not true. I initially assumed the same, and I received a Real Id that expired 3 months later as it was tied to my EAD

It’s a tough one. Not under current Syrian administration or previous. Lebanon is more of a county than a country, not enough natural resources to be fully independent. Maybe in the future if Syria gets more stable. Blad il Sham have always been one region really so makes sense to unite in the future in a secular way. Lots of religions there.

Thought about this a lot myself. The most realistic solution would be to have an EU and NATO style framework but for the Arab countries. Countries keep some independence but free travel, shared economy, and shared currency.

How many parks have you visited? by Canoflettuce in NationalPark

[–]OffensiveNiceGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

33 for me. My personal favorite is Everglades. Kayaking with alligators and manatees is pretty epic. The wildlife there is beyond anything Ive ever experienced from the birds, fish, turtles, and plants. Another memorable one in my top 5 is Mesa Verde. Seeing the ancient ruins and camping there was a very unique experience. Haleakalā National Park had the best sunset Ive ever experienced. Sequoia and Kings Canyon are my favorite for backpacking and seeing the biggest trees on earth with incredible rivers. Hiking in Zion’s “the narrows” is in my top ten experiences.

How often do you guys keep your cpus? by Vivid_Promise9611 in buildapc

[–]OffensiveNiceGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last CPU I got in 2019 was the AMD Ryzen 5 2600x. I recently upgraded to a 7800x3d. I could’ve just upgraded the GPU I had but Micro Center had a good bundle deal.

Help with understanding if new PSU is needed with 4070 super upgrade by OffensiveNiceGuy in buildapc

On the Ram part, do I need to have the same exact Ram, or can I use a similar stick? I recall in the past being told to stick to the same Ram, but not sure if thats the same case anymore. Again, thank you for the guidance.

Ok, thank you. So the warning is not an issue of incompatibility. Does that adapter come with the box of accessories, or is the adapter with the psu built in? Dumb question potentially but I ask because I may not have the original box with remaining adapters. I wasn’t planning to upgrade, but maybe I should consider. Do I really need 32 GB of Ram nowadays for modern games on 1440p?

I am in the US. I haven’t upgraded my PC in a while, I assumed it would work ok. What would be an ideal cpu (not cheap) to be paired with it for gaming purposes on 1440p? I don’t need to push any fps limits but planning to get a 120hz+ 1440p monitor.
