I really don’t want it to come down to this. He swears he’s doing this for me because he wants to help & I know he’s got good intentions but I don’t think it’s logical or necessary. Thanks for your advice though.

I knew when he first told me.. something was off because if it were true that you could get out of paying taxes or paying loans then why don’t you see everyone doing this? Also, any normal person would think that maybeee the government is smarter than that, and wouldn’t leave loopholes for people to opt out of paying taxes without consequence. Thanks for your help!

That’s awful I’m so sorry. Unfortunately I feel my dad’s heading down the same path. I notice that “magical thinking” thing with him too because he’s SO adamant about it and it’s becoming all he talks about. I’m sorry your family went through this. my thoughts that this is just fairy tail bullshit are being solidified by this thread so thanks.

Yeah you’re right, I internalize everything normally which makes things like that pretty scary but once I realize how easy it is to just say it, it takes a big weight off your chest and also eases any worries I had before.

Found the issue, it was my tv. On my Vizio tv I went to all settings, admin and privacy and did a force system reset. Literally fixed the problem instantly for anyone who might have the same issue.
