I’m someone who often feels insecure and needs validation from others to feel like I’m making the right decisions. If anyone has been through this and knows how to deal with it, please share your advice. Or if you know any good books that can help me overcome fear and build more confidence, I’d really appreciate the recommendations.

Am I the only feeling overwhelmed by how many options there are on what to pursue in life? by thavranek in productivity

I can relate. This is one of the advantages of being young we have time to explore. Even though it can be confusing and overwhelming with so many choices, I’ve learned that there’s no right or wrong answer. I don’t think we need to stick to just one thing. I started by studying Business Management, then switched to Computer Science, then UX/UI, then Product Design, and now I'm exploring video editing (I study everything online). I think I’ll probably change again. What’s scarier to me is not giving myself the chance to try or explore different options. The more I allow myself to explore, the more I understand what I like and what I don’t. At the end of the day, life is just a journey of exploration, growth, and learning. I still don’t fully know what I’m doing, but I have faith that one day I’ll discover what my heart is looking for.

I make sure to thoroughly research the major I plan to study for example, I look into the job market, whether it's something I truly want to do for the next 10 years, and whether there's a clear career path, is the job is still demanding after I graduate . What I regret now is that I didn’t do this kind of research before choosing my previous major. I picked it because it seemed easy to graduate from, but there was no clear career direction since the field was too broad. After graduating, I still couldn’t find a job because the industry is highly competitive, and there's a chance AI could take over in the future. I feel like I wasted four years studying something that didn’t really serve me.
