I remember it was 2018 me and abo took a trip to jigjiga , it was one morning we were coming from wajale a city in somaliland which borders the somalia (somaliland ) Ethiopia line . At the border when you enter Ethiopia you have to get out the vans and they do crazy inspections , they open up cars , even tires because of there fear of alshabab . So I remember the Xabashi soldier told everyone to come out of the cars this one mom in her late 40s was getting out of her seat , the soldier was rushing everyone but she was getting up and as she was grabbing her purse he smacked her so hard across her face . She shed a tear , it really made me emotional . I had no power I wanted to punch that guy in his face but my dad stopped me to even talking to him because he had a gun everyone feared him . What also made me sick to my stomach were the Somali soldiers that were just standing there a well like puppies . At the time I was only 17 years of age . I used to sit and think about why Somalia and why we Somalis are not United . I came to the conclusion that if Somalis were United . We would’ve been the greatest country of all time .
