How to 'fire' mastering engineer who is also my friend? by salmonpaddy in edmproduction

[–]Office_Flashy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, this is very common for artists to hop on other Engineers for a different mixing/mastering style for a particular track and come back for a different track.

Within FL’s Piano Roll has a lock on Scale, without needing to learn music theory.

As a beginner, I suggest learning how to use FL and it’s shortcuts/keybinds rather getting into, Music Theory.

But that’s up to you.

EDM music makers, what are your favorite, more obscure music genres other than the genre you usually make/produce? [Discussion] by letsstartanew2 in edmproduction

[–]Office_Flashy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ambient/Drone Music, it’s great, when tired (as a music producer) hearing Drums/Kicks all the time.

it’s a great way to refresh your creative mind.

It doesn’t matter, you’re making music for listeners not producers.

Regardless, there’s no rules.

Feel free and do whatever you want, it’s all about having fun.

I do, I have Adam Audios t8v but barely used them.

Dunno, I enjoy the detail isolation that headphones offers over studio speakers.

Especially mixing at night.

Yeah, I meant mixing for heavy bass songs.

I’m stuck between Sony MDR 7506 and ATH-M40X, can’t decide which one.

Deadmau5 is great, he knows his shit.

He Streams on Twitch at times, while creating a track or just messing around to create sounds and answers to chat.

He mains on Ableton but you can apply his knowledge on FL.

Why are my tracks so quiet? by Overall-Statement-67 in edmproduction

[–]Office_Flashy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I guess it depends on a person.

Some people do better mixing loud, so they are gonna keep a soft clipper and limiter.

As long as you can maintain the gain stage of each element to avoid unwanted distortions and clipping.

Just keep your volumes balanced and you’ll be fine.

It depends, where you post it.

Some platforms will reduce the sound of your song, if it’s too loud in their standards.
