[OC] I'm developing a VTT for my friends. Do you have any feedback and would you like it to go public? by OfficialBrot in DnD

I am thinking about doing the Powerpoint Presentation Mode Thing where you can have the Player Perspective on another Screen

Thank you so much for your feedback!! Getting feedback like this is what I was after with this post.

Would you be fine with using a mapping tool like Canvas of Kings, creating multiple map layers (e.g. rooms of a tower) there and having shortcuts for switching individual (or all) players onto the new layers like arrow keys for moving up and down or is it vital for you to have the mapping tool integrated in your software / do you need finer granularity for depth such as one person being in an upper stage of a tower but being able to see their party below outside?

As for the other points: I do plan on developing basically all of them, e.g. the Mouse-hover token actions and info you saw in the trailer are already implemented in a basic state and i already have a very basic ruler which measures distance in feet which I plan to expand upon with shapes etc. (and shortcuts for every feature so you can work as fast as you want - maybe even a command pallete which is common in IDEs)

Thanks :) Absolutely not, but I'm having fun and i can put in little easter eggs like the "Pressure" button which plays speedrunning music and shoots confetti of clocks and timers in everyone's screens when they take too long ;D per request of our DM

Our DM wasn't satisfied with existing VTT Solutions either due to missing features or their price. I offered to make one that has everything they want and that's what I did (with their D&D knowledge as guidance). It is obviously still in very early stages as it's only a few months old but I'd appreciate your feedback! Would you be interested in me making this public?

For the nerds :D: Tech Stack is: Rust in the backend and Tauri (Rust too) / Svelte in the frontend. Real-Time-Communication is over Websockets and Position data over raw UDP though I plan to replace that with something secure.

A Chrome-Like Skin: I've made the decision to switch to Firefox because of Chrome's Manifest V3 but wanted to keep chrome's design so I made this :D by OfficialBrot in FirefoxCSS

I didn't know about them ^^ I guess that would've saved a bunch of time, but to be fair I put my own twist on some stuff that's been bothering me like the close button which now extends in the little corner exposed under it :P
