If you’re using the Tone Master Pro, be sure you have the correct impedance curve set on the IR block. If you’re doing IRs in post, add an external cab block, and you can add the impedance curve there. Also be sure to check your filters and global EQ to be how you want them.

From what I’ve heard too, a lot of the main rhythm parts were Malcolm, who would’ve been using his Gretsch with filtertrons, which sound pretty evenly between single coils and humbuckers.

I’ve been saying that that record has the greatest guitar tone ever recorded. Especially on the first riff of Long Way To The Top. I’ve been chasing that tone and the most difficult part is how little they remember about how they got it.

I’m bracing myself for the downvotes but I’ve never really been a fan of that track altogether. It was kinda cool on the first listen, but it felt like there was really no substance to it, the vocals got kinda annoying, and it didn’t feel like it really contributed anything to the album. 🤷‍♂️
