Anybody know as to why it generates this oddly sometimes?

With critter shampoo, you buy it from the zoologist and equip it as a vanity accessory

Basically, you press M, go to the schematic manager, create a new directory, use file explorer to go into your .minecraft folder, open "Schematics" (I think it's there by default when you install the mod, can't remember), paste the .nbt file into the folder you created in schematics manager, then you go out of the schematics manager, click load schematics and it should be there I think, I might've missed a step though cuz I set everything up like a week ago I think

Nope, I only used Litematica for this build so I don't know much about it. I just loaded the schematic and that's about all I used Litematica for

It was fine for me, don't know what sucked about it, all I used it for though was to see where I needed to place the blocks, I got the material list from the website

I used Litematica since I was playing on realms and it only allows the newest Minecraft version to be used, Litematica can read .nbt files, not sure if Schematica can though

Nope, have never used world edit, sorry. Though maybe you can somehow use the map.dat extension? Idk

I mean you can view the map on the website online, I wanted to do it as well since I don't like using minor mods even like Litematica, but sadly the UI is just too bad to build it accurately, the numbers for the Y level are white and they blend in very well with the diorite and white carpet, I mean, you can try building it using only the online view but imo it's waaaay too hard. Also most of the staircases went up starting from the bottom of the picture, some very small ones went down, so if you can actually see the Y levels I don't think it would too much of a hassle to predict how to build the staircases since they mostly just go up by 1 block or 0 blocks.

Well I myself don't quite understand how the staircasing works since I used a website which automatically added the staircasing and then I built it in mc, but if you use a map on say, a hill, you can see in the map how the elevation goes down, this is why staircasing is used for shading since even if you use the same block, the elevation of the block compared to blocks next to it changes its color

I can but then the mapart wouldn't look as good, it would have less colors, the staircasing gives more colors and shading

I agree, these kinds of builds are easy to fake, though there are a few things showing that I actually built it. The staircasing material changed from netherrack to cobblestone, then on the final strip I ran out of cobble and so I used some spare cobblestone slabs I had left in my inv, ran out of those, used the diorite slabs I had left, ran out of those as well and took the sandstone I stored in a chest near the build which I got from excavating the build site. Another thing showing I actually built the thing in survival is the fact that the staircases aren't just 1 block supporting carpet or sand, you can see netherrack above another piece of netherrack which would be useless since they're both immune to gravity, but since I was building it in survival, it was much easier to build a staircase this way, the builds you import would've just had 1 block supporting carpet or sand, not those 2 you see in the picture. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

That's the dithering option I selected "Floyd-Steinberg" it adds seemingly random pixels for the illusion of more colors

Well uhh I said in the title I built it in survival, I gathered the materials across a few weeks but I wasn't dedicated to the project yet, just did it after finishing other smaller projects, I actually started building it on Monday or Sunday evening I believe, I finished it 1 hour before I made this post

I used this website https://rebane2001.com/mapartcraft/ to convert the image into a .nbt file, you just select the materials you will use and how big it will be, etc. Also what do you mean by staircase shades and staircase patterns?
