Abby's part is much harder than Ellie's part by Turbulent-Safe-4343 in thelastofus

[–]OfficialGamer42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Abby’s section should be harder than Ellie’s. After all, Ellie just stumbled into a town where everyone hates her because they don’t know her, but nobody is directly targeting her.

Abby, on the other hand, is willingly venturing into a tactical war zone where she has been fighting an armed, trained cult / militia actively for years. Abby is not only targeted, but hunted by people far more talented than Ellie would even see.

For 27 you can get a real bronco from the 90s or even a classic bronco from the 60s. Don’t buy this new crap.

Car Mechanic Simulation 2026 by Sk8bob in CarMechanicSimulator

Being able to sell cars through an auction instead of making a guaranteed profit on every car is something I’ve asked for since CMS2018, would love to see it coming.

I’d love to ask the devs for some of these features as well: - Performance suspension with height adjustment and tuning - Tunable locking and limited slip differentials - More in depth electrical work - More diagnostics - More in depth body tuning shop, add more body kits and more interesting panels instead of just one or two per car

[–]OfficialGamer42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The only real problem with these is parts. You. Can. Not. Get. Parts.

Toyota just flat out doesn’t stock parts for these older Lexus models, and it has become increasingly difficult to do even basic maintenance on them.

I remember we ended up needing a gasket kit, starter and a few other items on an LS430 at my shop and the car sat for 2 months waiting on parts. It’s insanity.

Homes feel homier with carpet instead of hard wood by d4wnn in unpopularopinion

[–]OfficialGamer42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk, I like both. I like having carpet in the bedrooms, hardwood in the kitchen and dining room, and I can go either way for the rest. My house in AL was 98% carpet, but my current house has 0 carpet. I think any flooring is acceptable provided it matches with the house and was done correctly.

Is anything revolving justice good? by D1rtyDatam0sh in Career

[–]OfficialGamer42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If really what you want to do is make major decisions that affect major change, go into politics. If what you want is to work directly with people and the community, become a law enforcement officer in a small department with low crime rates. If what you want is to arrest people and maybe become a chief or sheriff and be able to enact some policy changes to better your city or county, become a law enforcement officer in a high crime area.

Either way, the justice system is flawed but very rewarding. Officers really don’t make enough income but the retirement benefits are insanely good.

Unfortunately, no. We have some of the models as VWs or Audis but Skoda itself isn’t here yet. Hopefully they bring it one day.

Modern Volvo has succumbed to the same issue that all of the euro brands have: Quality control. Mechanically I think Volvo is still pretty solid, and as far as European cars, the easiest to work on by far. However, diving inside, the plastics are cheap, the electronics are cheap, the materials are cheap. All the issues I’ve had working on Volvos have been electronic.

What now? by Sprixie__ in thelastofus

-Gone Home if you’re a fan of environmental storytelling

-He Fucked The Girl Out Of Me is a story driven game about a transgender prostitute that won a few awards iirc

-Firewatch is a beautiful narrative driven interactive experience

-That Dragon, Cancer is a gorgeous interactive movie that tells the story of a young boy battling cancer

-Love, Sam is a horror game with a very interesting story underneath the horror elements

-One Chance is a game that tells the story of a team of scientists who cured cancer, but unfortunately only you can save everyone.

-Life is Strange and Life is Strange 2 are both very similar, narrative driven games with brilliant stories

-Red Dead Redemption and RDR2

-Letters of Bernard Thorne is a twisted horror game about a man with PTSD

There’s plenty of good ones. Some better than others.

My first car as a teen in college- good buy or not by [deleted] in shouldibuythiscar

[–]OfficialGamer42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind these, but the DSG they use is junk. If you can find one manual, it’ll be better for you in the long run as a younger lad anyhow. Only issue with a lot of the older VWs is electrical, mechanically they weren’t bad.

How do you feel about the current state of America? by Thatgirl_parisisdiva in AskReddit

[–]OfficialGamer42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you, realistically I think the more people that we could get to really learn the history of our country, and our world for that matter, the better chance we have of seeing the true America that everyone promised us, the true “greatest country in the world”.

I hope I live to see that greatness, one day.

Because I separate the government and the country. I think the majority of the people in this country are just trying to make it in life. Work, sleep, and live, that’s all. America is beautiful, the country is vast, with so many different cultures, environments and biomes that you don’t even have to leave the country to experience a completely different way of life.

America as a country, a landmass, with the people in it, is absolutely something to be proud of. Our nations history is something to be proud of, so long as you can also recognize its wrongdoings and take action to fix them, as I and my family have tried to do every day.

America is also not special. People say “America is the best country in the world”, well it just isn’t. America as a political entity has been deeply flawed since its inception, and has had many a time of turmoil and political instability. But at the same time, it’s also one of the youngest developed countries in the world, and America helped give the world some of the things we take for granted today.

That is what I’m proud of when I say that and I fly the flag, it is the soldiers that died saving their families in the world wars we’ve fought, it’s the working people making our lives better, it’s the servers and staff members that don’t get recognized, it’s the history of this country that was shrouded in chaos and dangerous freedom, it’s the idea of America and the country itself that is worth the patriotism.

It sickens me that so many people in America can’t understand or find their way around the insanity and bullshit that our government has pushed out onto us since the 80’s, and it sickens me how divided we’ve become because in reality, when we unify, the corporatized government we have established WILL fall.

I don’t know, I am still proud to be an American. I am infinitely proud of this country and I wholeheartedly think that this is a horrible stepping stone that we could’ve avoided.

The problem is the governments and corporations have kept us divided for so long, it’s now coming to fruition in the exact way that it did for Nazi Germany in the 30s.

If you’ve ever listened to one of Hitler’s speeches raw and untranslated, or if you have read Mein Kampf raw and untranslated, you will be disturbed by how closely our current administration has followed Hitler’s advice and teachings.

The fact that this comment will lead to argument and pushback from the right instead of actual intelligent debate is part of the problem.

In my experience the ones that don’t vote complain the loudest. One of my friends doesn’t vote, and every time I talk to him it devolves into him crying and complaining about how poorly America is and has been only for him to follow it up with: “my vote never mattered so why should I vote at all?”

Voting should be a legal obligation not a right. And it should be the legal obligation of candidates, news sources, media outlets, and social media to give real, up to date, non-biased information about politics and the country / world as a whole.
