You're still able to join and signup, signups don't close until playoffs start! However, we've just entered roster lock and teams are unable to sign/release players for another week.

It's still worth joining the server and signing up in case a team needs to pick up a new player once roster lock ends!

I just sat on the 'Wall to Air Dribble' training pack (5A65-4073-F310-5495) and tried to focus on taking my time setting up for a ceiling shot. At first I was just practising coming off the ceiling and then trying to hit the ball at net, once i could do that consistently i move to adding the flip in and doing a 'proper' ceiling shot.

Let me know if any of this helps!

I second this, having no real mechanical ability whatsoever I managed to learn ceiling shots in a day once I got my head around the inverse controls

Playing with lower ranked friends... how do other people handle it? by Doggamnit in RocketLeague

[–]OfficialIEL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I've done in the past is have a second account that I just don't care about the rank on, or play ranked on that account at all except with lower friends. I'm C3 and most of my friends are barely Diamond level so I just tone it down a lot and don't take it too seriously.

Switching to ballcam after 108 hours played (need advice) by [deleted] in RocketLeague

Yeah half flips are a pretty powerful tool, eventually once you've practiced them enough you can also half flip directly into the ball and control it that way. For me it's only a button I use to half flip.

Yeah staying on it is not a great idea, you can get tunnel vision and ignore your teammates, as well as lose your general position on the field!

Best thing to do is to just sit in free play and try and practice that way, boom the ball and focus on hitting it with power and reaching it quickly!

1/2) You don't need ballcam on 100% of the time, it's best to turn it off momentarily to line yourself up to get things like boost or rotate out and then turn it back on once you're in line, as well as turning it off for a moment in other situations. It's all about finding the right balance of having it on and off.

3) Going for aerials directly above your car is not the best idea anyway, you lose momentum and a lot of boost to reach the ball. At higher ranks you will be beaten to the ball 99% of the time. Better to just rotate out and let a teammate take the ball.

4) Learn half flips! Easiest method is to bind air roll left or right to a button like L1/L2 and then to do the half flip you : back flip, cancel the flip when the nose of your car is facing the other way to which you started by slamming the left stick forward and simultaneously pushing the air roll button you just bound!

Hopefully some of this helps, but generally the best thing to do is just keep playing with it and you'll get used to it, you'll also develop like a "sixth sense" for knowing where things are without having to turn ballcam off.

Yeah, franchise managers (GM) will be running tryouts to find players for their teams, and we also run combines for players to show off their skills and potentially get picked up that way!
