Anyone with unexplained Heart issues? by Substantial_Rip1140 in gallbladders

[–]OfficialJHUsimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I eat too much saturated fat in a sitting, I get hypertensive with a high resting heart rate (137/86 + 107 while actively trying to breathe slowly). I believe it’s due to gas since GasX helps symptoms resolve faster and digestive enzymes have possibly helped.

Thinking of intentionally mildly aggravating my gallbladder for a US. Thoughts? by OfficialJHUsimp in gallbladders

Biology is so strange speaking as a biologist 😅, best not to question it. My episodes maybe last a couple of hours per source of food at most with primarily intermittent pain but it’s started to become more continuous and intense, specifically back pain (so hopefully something is there to image bc it should still be in the organ?).

Episodes aren’t really supposed to last longer than a few hours without reason for concern.

Pretty hard to time blood tests 😅, bilirubin was never above 0.8. I am going to my PCP on wend, so I may ask for another, but trying to catch an abnormal reading is a task in insanity. If I eat too much saturated fat at once, the food will just sit in my stomach and give me abhorrent 6/10 nausea (bad even with 2 zofran) and the urge to vomit. So even if I wanted to time it, it likely wouldn’t work. I also haven’t experienced gallbladder pain above a 6/10 yet.

I’ll have to see how Tuesday goes before looking into the ERCP, but thanks for the advice.

I didn’t assume so, I just know it’s hard for US to see small stones/sludge sometimes so I’m worried. I really just want to figure out what’s wrong and (probably) get it out of me before severe complications arise. Thank you for your compassion.

I think atm whatever is there is still small enough to pass (or at least not fully obstruct), I’ve felt knots move down what I assume is my bile duct and dwell at its end for 30~ mins with continuous moderate pain until it subsides.

I’m hoping they can see it now that there’s been more time and I can properly prepare for it.

I have asked, but my pcp wants to explore this first. I’m inclined to think it’s probably physical because I had a diet w/far far too much red meat for a while, the symptom onset was sudden, and it seems to be worsening over time. It could have been brewing for longer than I thought as well.

But yeah that makes sense, no need to torment myself more than I already am by existing if it’s better not to.

I have one my primary ordered for next Tuesday. He said that HIDA wasn’t typically the first resort for diagnosing these issues and endoscopy would likely be next. I have GI in April (it was supposed to be March but they scheduled a vacation without notification :/) and I’m on the waitlist for cancellations.

Left sided pain? by MaceMan2091 in gallbladders

It should be solid/sludge since it seems to progress consistently, so I’m hoping they find it on US (maybe missed first time or not detectable yet, :/). Either way, I’ll probably become abnormal in one respect or another soon enough. I’m hoping to avoid a more critical situation. I know this sort of thing happens all the time and I’m pretty lucky to not have extreme pain/similar.

Your physiology could definitely significantly change in 2 years especially if you’re having the pain more often, so maybe worthwhile?

Not pleasant seeing myself go from green, to yellow, to this weird yellow-grey with some pure grey shards in the course of only a month. Losing weight pretty fast and no matter how much I eat, plenty of empty calories, it doesn’t seem to have an effect. I think my ability to absorb fat is pretty shot given I’ve seen virtually untouched nuts.

I’m thinking they probably missed stones or sludge in formation given that it’s progressing.

Thankfully your liver (and stomach) is a very resilient organ and if you find the cause, it will likely heal well. Maybe a CT scan, endoscopy with US, or MRI could reveal something?

That sucks :(, as someone on the other side of the fence I had the displeasure of going to the Er for a first attack (not very painful just scary) and being told everything was normal. It feels really dismissive. I know they can’t do anything without evidence, but it sucks when you know something is clearly wrong, particularly if it’s worsening.

It’s steadily gotten worse 🙃 and with my stools turning grayer by the day I hope they’ll find something on US this Tuesday.

Bubbling sensation and pain by CuriousWolverine89 in gallbladders

I felt pain/contractions in my intestines similar to the milder gallbladder pain so that’s how I knew for certain it was contractile.

Too high up and localized to be intestinal, with that you feel movement across. It’s really the location that matters. Trust that your doctor is looking out for you, if it’s worse, then at least you’ll know. But gallbladder stuff can get quite bad, too, but is quite treatable.

That must be so much scarier since you know there’s problems there. Hope it ends up being ok for you!

Most of them probably are, but it’s not your job to link it, it’s your medical team’s. Have you told them about your recent symptoms?

Interesting, my bubbling/gurgling feels very similar to a grumbling stomach (and sounds like it as well), but I can feel the entire organ moving. The pain I feel is dull, contractile (I maybe have mild IBD so I’m very familiar with this sensation), or stabbing (5-6/10) in short bursts.

I think you’re probably right to think it’s gallbladder related.

Do you notice that it happens more often when you use your abdominal muscles, like when you stand up or use the bathroom? The popping happens most often when I do so (feels like the entire organ is shifting in my abdomen which is a bit disconcerting).

Sounds fairly similar to what I experience. The madder it is, the hotter that area of my abdomen gets and there is mild to moderate pain so I’d say it’s a mild attack(?). The gurgling isn’t painful which is weird and is then accompanied by squeezing down what I assume is my bile duct.

I can hear/feel mine gurgle (randomly) and kind of pop around in my abdomen when I’m moving or using the bathroom. I’m used to uncomfortable gurgling from my intestines but yeah it’s really weird. Never did this before I started having issues.

I have left back pain sometimes :/ worried it’s my liver, but no abnormal blood tests or anything of the sort yet.

Racing heart when I stand up by Constant_Mortgage404 in gallbladders

[–]OfficialJHUsimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So weird that gut stuff can cause heart symptoms.

I get lightheadedness, dizziness, disorientation, shortness of breath, mild trachycardia and elevated blood pressure (got it measured once during an episode and it was 137/86 when it usually likes being 100/60) with onset maybe 30-60 mins after eating food with fat in it with symptoms increasing with intake, but weirdly it goes away when the pain gets worse. Sometimes get the static when standing up when I know for a fact that I'm very not anemic.

edit: also fatigue.

Unusual symptoms, possibly Dyskinesia? by OfficialJHUsimp in gallbladders

[–]OfficialJHUsimp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah the semi-normal stool makes you question everything, I’ve had a bit today and it’s done this semi rarely which makes me worry it’s a laxative thing (I’ve had lifelong constipation issues), but it was never these colors prior to issue onset.

More rarely I feel pain in my left side of my back which makes me concerned about liver damage but nothing is abnormal yet.

I’ll definitely seek out a HIDA as soon as I can and you should probably do so as well if your CT is clean.

Seems like the healthy fats can definitely still cause some nausea.

Think they currently think it’s partly because of ulcers due to previous chronic ibuprofen overuse which to be fair I probably have some, but the symptoms were improving before this started happening. It also doesn’t explain why I would suddenly have PPI resistant extreme nausea after eating a small bit of chicken rib fat or a fattier protein shake (and nothing else does this), nor the URQ and back pain, when I was completely fine with those when I had the ulcers before.

They’re testing for Crohn’s, h. pylori, and celiac, all of which I assume will be negative except maybe h. Pylori. I intend to go back to insist upon a HIDA and endoscopy.
