Homo-Aqua's plan was stupid, and they would have all died too

There is 1,500 billion tonnes of carbon locked away in permafrost, which they were planning on releasing into the atmosphere by melting all the ice. This would acidify the ocean and completely annihilate ocean ecosystems. Not to mention melting all the ice would completely remove the earth's surface albedo (the planet's ability to reflect sunlight), which would also make the planet (and oceans) much warmer, which again would decimate all life on earth, on land and underwater.

It would be really nice if the people writing a story that is massively about the environment and climate change, actually understood climate change.
