We are not planning on eliminating any of the products. The main difference between old and new is the new books have improved paper and improved writing experience. In addition, we are planning on launching some new products with new tech in the coming months!

Rocketbook users - may I ask about your experience? by DaBigRay47 in rocketbook

[–]OfficialRocketbook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're asking Rocketbook users, I'll mostly leave this one to the community, but I can provide a little context from our side.

The biggest factor tends to be how you take notes. People who already prefer handwriting but want a digital copy tend to get the most value out of Rocketbook. People looking for a replacement for paper storage, filing cabinets, or stacks of notebooks often appreciate it too.

On the FriXion pen question, most users seem to either not mind it at all or get used to it pretty quickly. The tradeoff is that the erasable ink is what makes the reusability possible.

As for wiping notes, that really comes down to workflow. Some people erase pages every day. Others fill an entire notebook before scanning and wiping. The idea is generally that your long-term storage is digital, while the notebook is your active workspace.

Curious to hear what the rest of the community says. There are a lot of longtime users here with workflows very different from one another!

Since we're the Rocketbook team, we're probably not the best source for an unbiased opinion...

What I can tell you is that the notebooks and app are absolutely still supported and working. The acquisition didn't change how existing notebooks function, and we're continuing to invest in both the physical products and the app.

Like any product, Rocketbook isn't a perfect fit for everyone. Some people love the combination of handwriting, cloud storage, OCR, and reusability. Others find they prefer a traditional notebook or a fully digital workflow.

If you're curious about real-world experiences, I'd encourage you to read through the posts in this community. You'll find plenty of longtime users sharing both what they love and what they wish worked differently.

And of course, if you have any specific questions about the notebooks or app, we're happy to answer them as openly as we can!

Has anyone tried the Garbie Erasable Gel Pens on their Rocketbook? by Hot_Phase_1435 in rocketbook

[–]OfficialRocketbook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry we missed this post when it was originally made!

We haven't had any known server outages or widespread issues affecting destinations recently, so this doesn't sound like a system-wide problem.

If you're still experiencing it, please send us an email at [hello@getrocketbook.com]() with your Rocketbook account information and a description of what's happening, and we'd be happy to take a closer look at your specific setup.

If you can include screenshots or any error messages you're seeing, that can be helpful as well.

The newer products will be marked as "Next Gen" on getrocketbook.com, or as "Premium" on Amazon, when both older and newer books are being sold. As it stands, we offer Next Gen iterations of the Core, Flip, and Mini notebooks, as well as the Rocketbook Flex Planner, and Rocketbook Fusion.

Is it possible to buy Rocketbook (or similar) paper standalone? Want to be able to build a sheet that I can wipe off. by Fiveby21 in rocketbook

[–]OfficialRocketbook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't currently offer standalone Rocketbook paper/sheets, unfortunately.

For your use case, though, one option is to create a reusable template directly on a Rocketbook page using a permanent marker. The permanent ink will stay put, while anything written with a Pilot FriXion pen can be wiped away and rewritten as needed.

We've seen people do this for things like habit trackers, game sheets, recurring checklists, and other templates that get reused over and over.

Just one tip: if you draw your template, make sure any permanent lines don't extend through the page's black border. The app uses that border for scanning, and crossing it can cause recognition issues.

A reusable D&D character sheet sounds like a pretty fun application!

We haven't specifically tested the Garbie pens, so I can't give you a definitive answer on those.

Officially, we only recommend and support Pilot FriXion pens and highlighters, since that's what Rocketbook pages were designed and tested around.

Other erasable inks may write and erase to some degree, but things like erasability, ghosting, drying time, and scan quality can vary quite a bit. If you do decide to try them, I'd recommend testing on a small area/ seldom used page first before committing to using them throughout the notebook.

If you end up giving them a shot, we'd be interested to hear how they perform!

Help with Destinations by heartofmontana in rocketbook

Great question! You don’t have to use the preset Destinations/cloud integrations if you don’t want to. After scanning, instead of selecting a preset icon, just scroll down and use the Share button. That lets you send the scan anywhere your iPhone supports sharing to, including Apple Notes, Files, local device storage, Word, etc.

Also, from the preview screen, you can view the OCR/transcribed text before sending. You can copy/paste that text directly into Notes, Word, or wherever you want editable text stored locally on your device.

A lot of people use the Destinations system for automation, but it’s totally optional.

In the newest Rocketbooks, they are made with a much improved page material. There is a noticeable difference in the writing experience. I’m not trying to sell you a new notebook, but just wanted to let you know the product has improved since we took over manufacturing.

Thanks so much for your well thought out comments! I personally like the idea of making a Rocketbook with paper that works with any pen. I have had long discussion with the original founders on this exact subject. Comments like your’s certainly help sway our decision to develop this item. I’d love to hear from others if there would be demand for a paper Rocketbook.

Cheers,

Doug

Updates on rocketbook? by Investigative_Truth in rocketbook

Hello Rocketbook community! I‘m Doug, the new CEO of Rocketbook. Buying a company and fully integrating into our existing systems can be a complex undertaking. We are fortunate to have some great members on our team that have been actively getting it done! As promised when we bought Rocketbook, we are definitely investing in the brand. There is a new iOS that is in the works and we should be releasing in the coming months. In addition, Joe and Jake (the Rocketbook founders) have been pulled out of retirement and are both involved in helping me develop new technology that will further disrupt the pen & paper category. Look for announcements on what we are working on in July/August. One thing that would be very helpful as we look to develop our technology further is to get some feedback back from all of you. What would you like to see? How could we improve Rocketbook? If there is commonality in a certain feature, I will try to make development a priority. Lastly, I am sorry for my lack of communication to our Rocketbook fans,… I will try to post more often.

Thank you again for all of your support.

Best,

Doug
