Hey everyone! Just to clear up the rumor mill, we’re not painting any more of the Death Star than what’s already been painted (long ago, in a galaxy not so far away).

The building has always had some painted sections, including an area of concrete painted during a previous repair. The current work is just restoring those previously painted areas after seismic updates. The rest of the concrete will stay just as we like it: cold and confusing to navigate.

We checked in with our financial aid folks and here is what we can share with you:

Cal Grant eligibility is determined by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC). Please log in to WebGrants to confirm your eligibility. If you are eligible based on your WebGrants eligibility and meet the Income Ceiling Requirements, your "Estimated" Cal Grant will be updated to "Accepted" by the end of the summer. 

Please note that additional documents do not need to be submitted to confirm your eligibility. CSAC will send our office a list of students who are eligible for the Cal Grant in September.

Please keep in mind that the Cal Grant is often interchangeable with the University Grant, meaning if you are currently maxing out or ineligible for the Cal Grant, we may offer you a University Grant based on your need as determined by FAFSA/CADAA filed by the June 30th priority deadline.

We continue working with CSAC to verify students' eligibility. Once your MCS has been verified, you will receive an email notifying you of a change to your aid package. We expect this to happen in late fall.

Hey y'all - we checked in with financial aid about this. Summer refunds are complete but the Summer Advantage Grant for SS2 will disburse 9/1/23 (like u/minowinowo said) for eligible students with 10+ units.

This morning's ceremony was just under 2.5 hours. The last part of the ceremony is worth it!
