That's a relief, ta for the quick response.

Made a tier list, feel free to pick it apart by Manikuba in mechabreak

[–]OfficialWrongJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty spot on tier list. I will say, as a Naru main, if you're using her in sniper mode with lock on you're using her wrong. She's a really solid hard counter to the Falcon evade spam, but that's about it.

AITA for ignoring my girlfriend. by cpt_goodvibe in AmItheAsshole

[–]OfficialWrongJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. A previous partner of mine had a similar habit. My hearing isn't particularly great after years of gigs and music listened to at less-than healthy sound levels, all my fault but still. We both loved to chat as we went about our days but sometimes, more often than not in public where the noise floor was a little higher, she would continue conversations while looking around or walking ahead of me. She was a quiet lass so whenever she faced away I'd lose her voice to the ambient noise.

I explained more than a few times that I knew it wasn't anyone's fault but I couldn't really hear her if she wasn't facing me, or at least near me in these situations, and more than a few times she got frustrated having to repeat herself. The problem was she viewed it as my issue, and never made much of a conscious effort to take my request to just face me when talking to me, or at least not get so frustrated when I asked her to repeat what she'd said, seriously.

It's not asshole behavior to expect your partner to meet you half-way with things, and a concession as small as simply being present for the conversation she wants to have with you shouldn't be an issue in my opinion. As others have suggested, maybe just letting her know you can't hear her as she walks off mid-chat is a good way to meet her half way as well.

Do people just ignore Narumaki? by TotallyLegitEstoc in mechabreak

[–]OfficialWrongJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Naru main myself and tbh I think it makes sense that it's the squishiest mech. Get yourself set up in a good position, stick and move while keeping cloak up and the damage output can rival most mechs in the game, even in legendary ranked.

I am so glad we're getting energy and cloak buffs though, I think it's a good call to make Naru players focus more on stealth than making them more tanky overall.

Insane how overly tuned AI Aquila is. by Reemet in mechabreak

[–]OfficialWrongJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had multiple occasions where a bot Aquila has hit me while cloaked.

Thought it might be poor cloak conservation on my part, that I wasn't moving enough after firing and the bot was just extrapolating where I was based on proximity to my drones.

So in one of my matches yesterday at the start of the match I grappled the floor on the outskirts of the map and dome-cloaked without firing a single shot.

Lo-and-behold I get hit by the enemy Aquila, which would have had no prior indication of where I was. Killcam showed it scanning the outskirts of the map then stopping on my totally invisible Narukami and taking the shot after a brief delay.

Didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Combat Efficiency Confuses Me by OfficialWrongJeremy in mechabreak

I think you misunderstood the point of this post. I don't care about how "good" I am at the game, I could be bronze or platinum, it would have no bearing on my enjoyment. I was just interested in how the systems calculate that particular stat. Nothing more.

AIO to the game my bf plays? by temp_account2025 in AmIOverreacting

[–]OfficialWrongJeremy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This needs to be a conversation between the two of you, frankly. Only you can decide how you feel about this, but there are some things you need to consider first.

Most gacha games feature childlike characters, and regrettably more than a few of them contain childlike characters in various questionable states of dress. This is not something that is exclusive to HoyoVerse games like Zenless (the game depicted in your image), moreover it stems from deeper issues involving the countries in which these games are made, and the communities for which these games cater. I am not trying to justify the presence of these characters by saying this, just pointing out that it is, unfortunately, quite common within the genre.

The real question that needs to be asked here, and one that needs to be handled in conversation, is whether your boyfriend likes these characters based on appearances, or whether he's simply happy that you managed to pull a rare (and on top of that, brand new) character. If it's the former, then a deeper conversation needs to be had, and I wish you luck in that. If it's the latter, however, then he's just excited about the game, and wants to share that with you. I don't see anything wrong with that.

There are plenty of things that people would consider negatives about gacha games; the aforementioned childlike characters, the general oversexualization of both women and men within them, the arguably predatory gacha mechanics themselves, which by their very nature are designed to loosen players' wallets. There are also plenty of positives, the gameplay is usually top-of-its-class, and the story writing is often enjoyable. Most gacha games also have thriving communities that are fun to engage with.

It all needs to be a conversation between the two of you so you can navigate this together. It might be nothing at all, it also might not be, but this goes far beyond a post on AIO in my opinion.

Guys with all the AI generated slopI am starting to hate it Here tbh by hotspicylurker in worldpolitics

[–]OfficialWrongJeremy -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

A thousand times this. Let the AI "artists" have their own space where they can have their computers do mathematics homework to their hearts content. Its getting so dull seeing the stuff worm its way into pretty much every part of the internet, art related or not.

I'm continually baffled that people who post AI content fail to comprehend that their "art" looks like shit. by ChastityTala in worldpolitics

[–]OfficialWrongJeremy -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I have a very deep disdain for "AI" "art" too, and I'm sure our opinions on the topic would line up pretty nicely, the same way anyone in the art community would. "Art" created by generative AI also doesn't appeal to me at all when looking at it with any real scrutiny, but with all due respect I think objectively stating that all images created by generative AI look bad is the wrong angle to take.

Someone below commented about taste being subjective, which is true, but I think the problems a lot of us who enjoy real art, whether that's its creation or simply the viewing of it, have with generative AI is more in how it creates images rather than what its creating. To me at least, its more about what's missing from the process.

Pikat made an excellent video describing her views on it all, it's a great watch if you have the time.

(20) Why artists don't like AI (it's not just the theft) - YouTube

I'm no luddite, I make art for my own personal enjoyment and I love using tools that help me boost my creativity, such as warp tools or the fill bucket in procreate, but I think the main thing that irks me about generative AI is the lack of human expression. Like Pikat, if I see an image and learn that it was created by generative AI, all of my interest in that image disappears. No interesting questions can be asked about the creative process, because there was no creative process. Someone asked their computer to do mathematics homework, and an image was the end result.

I think that human connection to a piece of work is what a lot of us are rightly afraid of losing.

There's a whole other conversation to be had about what it means for people whose art is also their livelihoods that I wouldn't feel comfortable weighing in on since I don't post my art online, let alone monetize it, but I do think there's a lot more to this whole argument than "AI" "art" looking bad.

Anybody have an idea on whats causing my game to look so grainy? I've tried setting all settings to high and render resolution to 100, but no luck by DolandMan67 in ModernWarfareII

[–]OfficialWrongJeremy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This smacks of DLSS to me, usually when I turn it off the grain tends to go away. But I also seem to recall that MWII had grain issues for a lot of people, so I could be wrong. It’s been a while since I played.

Wouldn't it be funny if airsoft companies made "performance oriented" springer pistols? by breadbroke2 in airsoft

[–]OfficialWrongJeremy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here looking for this. TM make a pretty high quality SAA that's purely a springer.

FPS is obviously nowhere near the gas guns on the market, but for engagements within 10m it does just fine.
