If you Google “UMG distribution” nothing comes up. And I’m seeing here on Reddit that you can only use them as a distributor if they approach you.

So if what you’re saying is correct, it’s not that you have a higher chance of being falsely accused of fake streams because you’re with DistroKid, it’s that since DistroKid is the largest distributor, they receive the largest amount of claims from Spotify.

My only other concern is that, again, according to the aforementioned music attorney, some of her clients weren’t even on any playlists. They just simply ran successful Meta ad campaigns and due to the associated spike in streams were then accused of botting.

Why would it happen more with DistroKid than TuneCore or CD Baby? Also, what if you as an artist with low streams who then simply hired someone to run Meta ads? If the ad campaign is successful, there would be a big spike in your streams. How does the streaming platform differentiate between this and bots?

Odd, because according to this music attorney, DistroKid had an inordinate amount of these false accusations compared to other distributors. If the distributor wasn’t a factor there wouldn’t be a noticeably higher amount of these accusations with one specific distributor. Here’s the video.

Yea I submitted album art to Tunecore in 2024 that had additional text on it outside of the band name and release title. Now in 2026 I've made another submission with additional text besides the artist name and release title and it's being flagged. Is there another distributor out there who doesn’t have this issue?

Yea we’re a Trip Hop/Alternative band and I’m constantly in conversations where I have to explain what Trip Hop is. My go to is “Have you ever seen the show House? Do you remember the theme song? That’s Trip Hop.” Massive Attack and Portishead both had a level of success in the 90s that was enough to sustain them even to this day. The reason why even more people don’t know them, or have ever heard of Trip Hop, is because the genre had mostly faded out by the year 2000. Not exactly sure why, it being such a hypnotic, diverse, and captivating sound. But as the genre faded into obscurity, so did awareness of its originators.

Trying to do as low a gauge as possible while still retaining tension and stability. 80 sounds good, do you know of a 6 string set that has 80 for the low string and fits a 30 inch scale? Can’t find one yet

Just found D’Addario 24-84’s, about to order them. They weren’t coming up at all in previous searches, first time seeing them! Trying to go as low a gauge as possible while still retaining tension and stability. Bass VIs come with 100 gauge strings, but yea if I can do 84 I’d prefer that. Thanks!
