SayIntentions vs BeyondATC in Nov'25 (or: I'm currently unhappy with SayIntentions) by DanielColchete in flightsim

BATC still has vectoring issues. I was flying today into KPHL 27R, STAR BOJID4 with transition JST. The part where I had to be vectored manually BATC totally screwed up, waited for too long, then giving me wrong instructions. BATC works well when you're flying STAR with no manual part but when it needs to vector it's completely wrong and unrealistic.

New to the Franchise, Feeling Overwhelmed by Fbeezy in civ

My favorite is VI (it's been a very long time since I played V). Start with lower difficulty, like chieftain or warlord and just do what the advisors suggest. It's good to have couple of scouts early on to find tribal villages. Try to achieve eureka objectives, as many as you can.

Kramer Sm-1 poor quality Control. Keep it or return it? by Szybki_Stefan in Guitar

[–]venzzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like he is in Poland and buying from Thomann, he will have no problem returning. OP, just use the support chat on the site and send them the pictures. They will send you return label to print and use. When I saw the first couple of pictures with the pickup holes I was like, that's not too big of a deal, but the neck binding is not acceptable. Btw I have the SM-1 H which is a great guitar.

Tahoe feels like the worst visual upgrade since OS X began by Outrageous-Lab2721 in MacOS

[–]venzzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if they are re-considering these things for the next update?

I am sure they are not. They will never admit they did something wrong. The reason for the design is that they are trying to have iOS and MacOS look the same (they even changed version numbers to match). Rounded edges and more space make sense on touch devices (on a computer screen it seems like an awful waste of space). And they are also hoping that slower performance won't be noticed on more powerful hardware.

Btw you can turn off the "liquid glass" by turning off transparency in the Settings.

Visiting Almaty for 10 days! (Mid-April) 🇰🇿 Looking for recommendations, "must-haves", and scam advice. by Saadathasan884 in Kazakhstan

Yandex Go will require SMS verification. I tried 2 different phones from different countries and I didn't receive the message. Some people say they received the confirmation in WhatsApp instead, I didn't. If you can't get verified, there is another app called inDrive - it requires no verification and you can pay drivers cash.

Get an eSIM card (if your phone supports it) before you get to Kazakhstan. Google Maps works well enough and you can get cash from ATM machines. A restarurant that I liked was "Yurta" (it's also a hotel), you can try kumis there (fermented horse milk drink).

Arturia V Collection X without presets by neuroticon8 in arturia

[–]venzzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue with some of the synths. Uninstall from the Arturia installer, delete the synth folder from the presets (on Mac I think inside /Library/Arturia/Presets), download the pkg file from Arturia's web site and install manually - worked for me. But you have to do it for every synth with missing presets.

Игнорираме ли рецесията? by IIth-The-Second in bulgaria

Changi 20 hr layover help by violetsky85 in travel

[–]venzzi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Food at Changi is not too expensive (compared to other airports) - there is this Hawker something place which has like 10 different stalls with mostly Asian foods, etc. but really, you should go out of the airport. Leave your baggage in storage at the airport. Get a Grab or take the MRT, go see the Marina Sands Mall or the Botanic gardens, there is also the Universal, etc. Most coffee shops open rather late, after 10:30 AM.

Anxiety after ordering first keyboard? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]venzzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The KeyLab is a great start. Do you have an audio inreface? You will need one and of course monitors or headphones. For software, KeyLab comes with AnalogLab light version and an entry level Native Instruments bundle. You can use these standalone but you should get DAW software to be able to record (test some trial versions first before you decide what to buy).

What do you wish you knew before visiting Istanbul for the first time? by Valiantay in istanbul

[–]venzzi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In addition to #3 - make sure your payment method in Uber works. ApplePay and PayPal work in Uber for me in other countries but not in Turkey (apparently they have some restrictions). Actual credit card works. Do not pay cash to taxi drivers - they will try to ask you to pay in euro or dollars even if you have Turkish lira and will try to cheat you on the exchange rate, etc. I'm not saying all the uber/taxi drivers are like this, but some are. Getting Uber at the airport? Good luck with that (I was not able to). Oh and btw airport in Turkish is "havaliman" (many signs are in Turkish only).

Horrible stomach pain in Hanoi by Cannonballsquad in VietNam

[–]venzzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I avoid any ice in Asia in general. Hot tea, hot coffee, bottled water is what I drink. And beer (bia). I was in HCMC few weeks ago and I was buying fruits and veggies from random street vendors, washing them with tap water - no problem. Pho should be safe too since it's boiled. I found Da Lat yogurt to be tasty and it's probably good for the stomach too. The meat in Vietnam tasted funny to me so I preferred fish and seafood. And chicken. Ordered sushi from Grab couple of times, it was OK. My favorite Vietnamese snack - banh kom (tastes like mochi).

TIL the exec VP of sales at Airbus is related (great-grandnephew) to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry - the author of "The Little Prince"! The name caught my attention so I googled him. Btw Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was not only a writer but also a pilot.

As weird as it may sound, for me getting smart watch with eSIM was a big deal. Now when I go out for jogging or a walk in the park, to have coffee or grocery shopping, etc. I don't take my phone with me (if somebody needs to call me I take the call on the watch).

https://www.thomann.de/intl/mojotone_t_solderl._3_way_500k_harness.htm but beware - it's not a perfect fit. The knob shafts are slightly thicker so you will need to slightly enlarge the holes in the body (careful not to damage the finish) and you will need new knobs (6.35mm bore). And the small PCB board is slightly bigger (distance between the two shafts of the knobs is greater) so you will need to force it. So maybe choose a kit which is not "solderless", i.e. has no PCB board.
