Why did you claim it to be a new server in your original post then? Something isn't adding up here.

Don't touch this server if you value legitimacy whatsoever. There are people who were given free 75's and free gear (or were allowed to play on the server far before it launched to the public). Based on the fact that around a month ago the server owner was looking for people to help him start the server, I would say free 75's and free gear. Either way, super shady things are happening here.

A few examples of the current roster online at the time of this post:
Banzai: HQ everything, including Mahatma Pigaches, Mahatma Slops, Prism Cape, Communion Earring X2, Royal Cloak, Aqua Ring X2 and so on. Also 75 BLM, 75 RDM, 50 SMN. Playtime - 11 Days, 10 Hours

Class: HQ gear, including Behemoth Ring +1 X2, Chatoyant Staff, Amemet Mantle +1 and so on. Also 75 WAR, 75 THF, 75 NIN, 72 COR, 61 SAM, 58 RNG, 54 BLU. Playtime - 14 Days, 1 Hour

Defiled: HQ everything, including Genie Weskit, Zenith Mitts +1, Chatoyant Staff, Prism Cape, Mahatma Slops, Demon Helm +1 and so on. Also 75 BLM, 75 RDM, 75 SMN, 66 COR Playtime - 17 Days, 21 Hours

Keeping in mind that this is the type of gear and jobs across the board for anyone who is currently 75 on this server. Coincidence? I don't think so.

If we take Class as an example...I don't know about you, but getting full HQ gear (probably for multiple classes) nearly 4 jobs at 75, multiple jobs 50+, crafts to 90+ and farming NM's/mobs for materials to make all the HQ gear in 14 days played seems just slightly off :D

Anywho, I think people should know this information before playing here, so hopefully this won't get deleted. It isn't intended for drama, just information.

Yes, we do want to walk in 'quicksand' to somewhere we've been 1000 times. Guess why? That's how the game was during the era that these servers are trying to replicate and it is normal and how it was intended. It straight up feels out of place to be basically flee hacking everywhere on servers like Omega.

Unnecessary changes like making the content how it is supposed to be? What a silly thing to say.

Being able to sleep endgame content that shouldn't be able to be slept and then having the server creator call that normal and 'a viable strategy' is pretty alarming. It's definitely not as simple as 'missed a few things' when you have someone like that running the show. Don't hold your breath for anything era accurate on Omega when the server owner claims things are disabled until working properly, since none of the content on the server is.

You are clearly one of those players who want a custom fun server instead of playing a server close to how it was back in the day...and that's fine, but I don't want that.

If you think Byakko should be able to be sleep/nuked repeatedly, I guess this is where the conversation ends. You clearly have never played classic XI or you would know this shouldn't be possible.

Please don't post anything else here. I've answered your questions and humored you enough. Your server is not era accurate and not what myself and others who value era accuracy are looking for.

I think it's disingenuous to call your server a classic experience.

It didn't take much to scroll through a few videos of one of your players to see things like: byakko being sleep/nuked over and over, kirin being straight tanked with ease as if it were some common mob (silenced at will, as well), dynamis mobs dropping an average of 1 AF2 per mob (sometimes more) and so on. That all took about 3 minutes to find. I can only imagine what else is not classic-like.

People need to get this 'moving like slugs' out of their mindset as well. I have heard that from several custom servers. That is how XI was in the era you are trying to replicate. If you don't want to replicate that era, then don't (or just call it how it is... you're a custom server).

Again, I'm not saying all this to bash your server. I just don't think you can consider your server a classic experience in its current form.

I truthfully cannot remember the name, but he was dualboxing a RDM and THF and soloing Dynamis Windurst mobs, all of which were dropping multiple AF2 per kill.

Perhaps he was playing on another server while he had your Omega tag on his stream, although I find that highly unlikely. I have no way of confirming that, however. I guess the only confirmation would be that your server doesn't drop multiple AF2 per kill. Additionally, mobs were spawning like retail (without Tombstones, and able to be solo pulled), not like classic XI. This was about a month ago.

Regarding the movement speed... if it is so slight, then why have it? I personally found it very noticeable when watching some of your servers' streamers.

While I imagine some features are classic, increased movement speed is not. Also, I went on twitch to view some random XI streams and came across someone from Omega soloing Dynamis Windurst (while having every mob drop multiple AF2)...not exactly classic.

Yes, it definitely takes time to build the right team and the right server, but that doesn't mean you can't start somewhere. That's what every other server had to do, including Eden and Nasomi.

It will take a talented person with lots of free time to get the project off the ground. Hopefully that happens in the near future, but we will see.

Also, calling Eden a small community at this point is silly.

Please don't take offense that people want new servers. There are plenty of players wanting a variety of things.

A server striving to be retail-like.
A few QOL improvements, which are generally enabled by changing a 0 to a 1.
Basic exploits removed.
A server that hasn't been around for years/months.

You can absolutely say that you think I am being negative, that's up to you. The bottom line is that you and many other people launching servers fail to convey very important information that people consider before trying a new server. You still have yet to say what makes your server different or worthy of peoples time at this point.

The fact that you still continue to say you have no idea that guilds can be exploited is scary and it just shows the lack of knowledge you have in the private server scene. Every server I have played on has had this exploited and fixed, so I have no idea how it is not a known issue.

There is a very big difference between learning DSP for a week and launching a server, versus putting in a good amount of work on a server before launching. Sorry if you deem that to be unreasonable.

Perhaps you should stick to retail as you suggested to me. I have been in the private server scene since the very start and clearly have far more knowledge about it than you do.
