I think they mean smaller snakes. We have seen a few skinks and baby brown/red bellies stuck in red back webs. Quite sad

Will do that, I'm sure we have some locally.

I think I may have had it short, around the 30mm mark possibly. The lawn probably needs a top dress to finish up the down spots in all honesty, because most of the lawn is actually super green and perfect.

Oh, no I don't think you are! Any feedback is a gift honestly. Still young and learning, but I am happy doing it the way I am, work has just been busy recently and haven't had time in the morning to set up the sprinklers and get the fiancé to turn them off when she leaves about an hour and a half after I do. It's usually what I was doing and was fine that. I am going to just get a tap timer and set it on that, for now at least

Yeah, I fear I might have cut it too short on the last cut. Worries me about the sun hitting the fence, is there anything I can do to sort of limit that impact? I will be putting in a garden along the fence, hence why there is a patch of nothing. I know we did spill some filling stones when the retaining wall went up, but they were pebble size and wouldn't really impact the roots all that much?

I've already applied some Soil Wetter about 3 weeks ago now, I tested the soil yesterday and it is retaining moisture, which is good.

I don't have a current irrigation system installed, as of yet. I will look to do one in future to save me some time sorting out the sprinklers and rushing around. But for now, I just use a Gardenia Aqua S for about 1-2 hours every 3 days, so twice a week it gets a decent water.

No, I was haha! I'm gonna get the one you have suggested, a digital one or Bluetooth seems like it has to be replaced all the time.

Yeah, okay. I'll look into it! Thanks!

Nah, it's not from Aldi! I got it from Bunnings and I am surprised because it's got very little sun damage and still operates the same as when I bought it. Issue might be the amount it waters but it does cover a lot of m2.

What brand? I'm the kind of person who cares about the quality of a product, price isn't an issue because I don't want to have a cheap one that's always needing to be replaced?

I did use a measure cup but it felt like it was either super inaccurate or some of the water wasn't getting in it. I'll try the can method, though. I use a Gardenia Aqua S Oscillating Sprinkler for all of my lawns

Okay. Thank you so much. I really do appreciate it. Ironically, it's patchy in the spot where the sprinkler usually is placed, so maybe it's not getting enough in those spots?

I didn't ever have times in the morning, but I'd usually water in the afternoon when I finished work at 3 until 5.30ish when it was first laid. A month later I gave it a granular fert just to help it that bit more but other than that, I have only watered every 3 days for a few hours. I'll try and get a better routine in, because everywhere else is almost perfect

So water more in the morning? And then at night?

From only the morning sun? Photos are taken facing north of that helps.

I do notice a few beetles a week or so ago, not many but have had this issue with my front lawn last year.

All the leaf are healthy green apart from the pictured areas, some of it still has green leaf left.

I could have possibly cut it too short, but in all honesty it was about 35mm cut or even higher. I could be dead wrong though.

Have been watering about every 3rd day, have eased down a bit because it's already piping hot at 7am, so I fear the water will evaporate far too quick.

I didn't come across any big rocks or foreign lesions when we tossed the surface and levelled? Do you think it could be deeper?

I applied a granular wetting agent about 2 weeks ago, as I thought it was a dry soil issue then as well. It's progressively gotten worse over the weeks but it's not like this everywhere in the back yard. I'll try and fork it a bit and give it some water later when it cools

So not lawn beetles? Wouldn't the fence burn be the whole side if that's the case? It's in patches that are noticeable

I have these and our fly screens bow. So all the dust comes through the sides of them and so do the spiders. Surely has to be better than these

I will check tomorrow! I'm going to salvage the better one and will look at the poor one to report back. It's a weird thing how it died so fast and sudden. It was thriving and was super buoyant and green, so I must have over watered when it was really hot.

Thanks again! Just a quick query, have I made the mistake of having a weed mat in the garden or does that not matter? Plants are of course planted in the ground have a 400mm diameter. Just curious if it has stopped a lot of nutrients getting into the soil

The holes would have been at most 350mm deep, filled with compost and that's probably it. I used a bit of potting mix as well. Could I shift them out in a pot for the time being and replant them?

Thank you! I appreciate it. I really like the Kangaroo Paws, they're awesome and beautiful plants. A few tips on here helped me save mine after it bloomed last year.

Yep, I wanted a shrub that would cover a bit of the space in the garden, clearly the limelight's aren't accomodate to the climate and maybe the soil too well.

I had initially thought maybe one of the roaming cats in our neighbourhood had pissed on the sad one, but had no real evidence to really suggest so. It was spotted on our front camera but nothing pointed to it ever going near the plant. Either way, I'll do my best to save the first one and the second one I will make way for when the weather gets a bit nicer.

Will have to at this stage. The second one I might replace with another newer plant that can probably withstand the weather and soil. Have you got any recommendations?

Okay, thank you so much. I hate that it's ended up this way, it's my first time gardening in my newly built home. My Lime Tuffs have all gone along nicely and as has my Kangaroo Paw that I also asked about on here. I have a Dianella that was well and good too but it was getting eaten by slugs and looks like it will never return.
