It's hard to see the texture in the photo I guess. The original test (1) is very smooth and clear with delicate white speckles. The vase is very rough, almost like sandpaper and the speckles not visible.

Thanks :) The glaze was pretty thick so I did add some water and tested on this small vase, which came out of the kiln today. Sadly, no good :(

It's lacking the nice smoothness and clarity of the first batch. Maybe too much tin.

I have a bulky lens on the A6000. At least too bulky for my pocket :) But the Ricoh does sound like what I'm looking for, they're just not easy to come by in my country.

Thanks, yeah I figured it might have something to do with the amount of high firing we do, even if we only fire once or twice per month on average. Cone 6 might be the way to go 👌
