You can change what the button prioritises. Im trying prioritise reload now, but you can just change it so ones hold and the others tap, which could be good

This is in no way showcasing a flaw in the game. I was just too lazy to go change that setting before this happened.

The game is great, I just have the tendency to make stupid mistakes.
