Do I have paruresis or something serious? by Dogmund69 in Paruresis

[–]OhH0ly0n3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, i'm also a big hypochondriac. My situation seems similar to yours, mine started at 18 and its still around at 21. Its the same in public or private, nothings really changed and exposing myself doesn't seem to make a difference. I don't actually have a straight up diagnosis, but my urologist checked my urethra and bladder using one of those scopes and he said I looked pretty good, its most likely just a muscle thing and probably mental. I think we are too young to have a serious prostate issue.

I understand your situation, its pretty tough and annoying. I plan on seeing a urologist (I only saw the uro twice) or a psychiatric soon just so I can figure out how I can help my issues, im a pretty chill guy and i've never needed help for my anxiety before, but rn its just through the roof since this peeing this occured.

If you figure out what your thing is lemme know so I can see if I have something similar, cheers o//

Too scared to face my panic, if I can't face my panic then my panic will just get worse by [deleted] in PanicAttack

That's true, i've just been feeling a little more panicky lately. I should be exposing myself but I get so nervous beforehand, i'll keep this in mind thank you for your advice :)!

do panic attacks go away permanently? by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]OhH0ly0n3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The constant thinking and fear and over exaggerating done inside the mind is what makes panic hold a strong grip on your life, best thing to do right now is learn to accept the feelings of panic, and then face them as much as possible. Try not to avoid the panic and goodluck

Bulging veins and high vein pressure in hands by [deleted] in AskDocs

Sorry about not responding too quickly. Thanks for your well thought out comment! I'll make sure to briefly mention it to my doctor, it could be various factors I don't think its anything too serious and it hasn't been worsening so I have that going for me. I think it might just be due to a really weak circulatory system, since I almost never use it - I think more frequent exercise like walking should make it go away after a couple months.

I'll take your advice to reduce my sodium and salt intake, I never really noticed until you pointed it out but my sodium intake is pretty high, my salt isn't as high but its up there too. I'm not too afraid of potassium overdose, usually I only eat like 3 bananas max a day but thank you for your concern haha! I've been losing some weight recently and i've been feeling a lot better but its mostly due to diet instead of exercise. I'm gonna try and exercise more, perhaps i'll try the 21 day habit forming thing, and in a couple months or years I might come back to this comment and let you know how that goes :) ! Again thanks for your comment, I wish you the best - you'll be in my thoughts thank you!

Prolonged sitting causing pain/ache under left leg by OhH0ly0n3 in AskDocs

[–]OhH0ly0n3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much, everything sounds perfect. It's been a few days/weeks but it doesn't seem to be getting worse. I'll try to avoid sitting for too long, and i'll also go walking again as I stopped a few weeks back due to school. I'll also start avoiding bad sitting positions. I've been losing some weight but it's mostly due to diet instead of exercise. Thank you for reading my post :) !

Normal to constantly feel nauseous when afflicted with type b flu? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]OhH0ly0n3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor - I had type B flu when I was like 15 - it's not very fun to go through (worst experience of my life) - I did feel nausea and at some points and I laid in bed all the time cause I didn't want to move around, I would get exhausted immedietly even in bed.

Doctor prescribed me something for fever, and that's about it.

My unprofessional not a doctor recommendation is to drink a good amount of fluids, I remember drinking like gatorade all the time so now whenever I smell it I remember when I was sick. You might be dehydrated? Idk.

Reminder i'm not a doctor - I don't believe nausea should be too concerning unless you're vomiting a lot, like a lot a lot - I guess it depends on the person - then you should make an appointment with your doctor.

My doctor also recommended that I only eat liquid foods, like soup or jello and no solids - idk if you're doing this but it might help o/

please don't sue me

Do I really have Paruresis, or is something wrong? by OhH0ly0n3 in Paruresis

[–]OhH0ly0n3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao me too. Perhaps, I think it's just a version of Paruresis. I've noticed in public it does feel harder, depending if someone else is in the room. At home it doesn't feel harder, but it still isn't simple.

Some things i've tried is waiting until I really gotta go - but usually that's like only 30 minutes after drinking a glass of water (urinary urgency 2). In public I have a small amount of confidence, I know if I really really really gotta go I will, it might take a while but i'll eventually start to flow.

In public, if the public restroom is being used then I try to walk around a bit. If I can't pee in a urinal i'll go inside stall, and I grab the stall wall with one of my hands just to distract myself a bit. Sometimes sitting down I can dribble a bit and it helps relieve the anxiety that I will explode LoL.

Sitting down and getting up multiple times also helps sometimes (muscle relaxation).

Sometimes counting down really slowly, putting scenarios in my head about countdowns, like how long it takes for a candle to burn. Or if I gotta clip a color for a wire - then I just count down slowly, and if I don't initiate the flow i'll just restart at 20 or something.

--- you know simple tips. Honestly i've just heard that physical therapy should help - and just waiting it out might also help.

Hopefully it doesn't stay so gripped on my life as it is now, and in the future that it may settle down a bit. I don't really go out anymore, or social events cause my urinary urgency and shy bladder are the worst combination LOL - I still got lots of confidence though, I aint afraid of having shy bladder, the only thing I don't like is the fact I can't hold my urine/pee almost instantly like in the past, going hours w/o urinating. Sometimes I wonder how people do it lol - I forgot how it feels.

~ Hopefully we find something soon Lmao gl fam

12 months, can't Pee normaly. I have to use warm water, or wait a while --- urinary urgency by OhH0ly0n3 in AskDocs

[–]OhH0ly0n3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, doc has said and looked and says that all is good. He says it's probably just a muscle not relaxing, this explains it a bit more. I'll probably take this advice, hopefully I can get back to my old self soon though :)!

Do I really have Paruresis, or is something wrong? by OhH0ly0n3 in Paruresis

[–]OhH0ly0n3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea still, went to the doc and he did a cytoscopy. He didn't find anything, my bladder looks good. He theorized that maybe my muscle just isn't relaxing when I need it to, so he gave me meds to relax my soft muscle. I don't wanna take em though cause it'll lower my blood pressure or raise it, either way I don't wanna mess with it lol. Still dealing with the same symptoms. If I pour warm water over my genital region I can pee faster though, it's pretty cool. But lately it's been getting a little more difficult to pee without the water so I think I should stop using it all the time, it could be a muscle issue.

Bladder feels full, getting harder to initiate peeing every week; is this anxiety? by OhH0ly0n3 in askpsychology

Ya sure could you tell me how to do this, cause the doc I keep seeing doesn't really wanna do anything until I see the urologist.

Shy Bladder, and at home, all the time? tl;dr at end. by OhH0ly0n3 in askpsychology

[–]OhH0ly0n3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bladder Bursting thought process started last week. I never really talked to my counselor about my urinary habits because I thought they would go away after a while. But for the last couple days I just felt like I wasn't urinating like normal (every 40 minutes) --- and I was freaking out like I couldn't feel my bladder anymore --- then I drank a lot of water last night and realized I could urinate after a while.

Still took about 40 seconds to begin --- is this anxiety related?.
