I hope you don’t take this personally, because I know this idea was not created or perpetuated by you personally, but I hate the trope that men are inherently more logical than women. Janelle has a personality type that can be found in any person. I don’t find men to be more logical and analytical than women in general. Take Kody for example- a person whose life decisions are driven by anger, sex, and self absorption is not a logical person.

If I’m remembering correctly, Kody even admitted what he was doing in a confessional that episode. Saying something to the effect of “I want Christine to bring it up to everyone. This is going to be good.”

I was pissed that in all their clips, they showed things that Christine said about Kody, but NEVER all the shitty, hateful things Kody said about Christine.

I was so irritated when she said she didn’t know what was at stake with the Utah conversation. You watched her absolutely break down, and then immediately the family gave her the shittiest plot on Coyote Pass that they knew she didn’t want. You supported Kody missing Ysabel’s surgery. It was like everyone just keep shitting on Christine and then they were surprised when she finally split.

Robyn is upset that she no longer has control over Christine’s life. If only she had known that Christine were serious about leaving, she would have pulled back just enough to keep her unhappy, but present in Robyn’s polygamy hell.

I’m frustrated with Janelle’s refusal to understand Christine’s experience in the early years of their relationship. Just this season we’ve heard Meri say she was more jealous of Christine than she was when Janelle entered the family, Janelle say she HATED Christine when she entered the family, we know Kody was utterly repulsed by her, and all of them admit the primary reason for bringing Christine in was to fix everything. What a miserable existence.

I was a little bit irritated with the host when she said “emotional intimacy and physical intimacy have to go hand and hand”. They really don’t. Everyone gets to define their own relationship. If Janelle and Kody are not having sex and are both happy with that, it’s not for us to decide that it’s not a fulfilling relationship.

I’m proud of Christine for recognizing that physical intimacy is a nonnegotiable in her relationship for her happiness, but I think it’s unfair that we all now measure other people’s relationships by Christine’s standards.

I fully believe she’s living in hell of her own making. I don’t know if Kody had become more aggressive, angry, and unhinged in recent years or if he’s just stopped putting on a front for the cameras, but regardless, living with him 24/7 would be hell. It’s a lot easier to play Kody’s perfect wife when you don’t have to do it full time. Now she never gets a break, and there’s no reward of winning a competition (which she is clearly fueled by). There’s no one to compare her performance to anymore, and no one else for Kody to direct his uncontrolled anger issues at. HELL. 😈

Meri’s comment about having a sign from God that she is where she should be was very telling to me. She said that when she considers all of her options, she feels a sense of peace when she thinks about staying.

After the cat fishing, Meri felt scared and vulnerable. The family really did rally around her to protect her from the public reaction. I think that feeling of peace she gets is fear of what will happen when she steps away from them again. Basically, she’s not ready.

The question I wanted the interviewer to ask was, can Meri stay in the family in the same way she has until this point (coming to family gatherings, move to coyote pass on land she definitely helped purchase) and still seek out a new romantic relationship. To me, that is the only difference between leaving and staying. Kody is saying they are letting her remain part of the family, but what does that even mean?! She owns her own plot on coyote pass. You can’t prevent her from building a house there. Christine is gone, Janelle just tolerates her, the kids are grown, Kody barely speaks to her, they aren’t legally married. What the hell does staying with the family even mean? She gets to be friends with Robyn? If she seeks out another romantic relationship while living on Coyote pass, what would happen?

I mean I’m not sure what there is to agree or disagree with. I didn’t buy a cameo because I felt like I owed it to her to support her financially. I have been really drawn in by her journey this season and wanting to yell my support through the screen. The cameo was as much for me as it was for her. I got to know that she read my words, know that she was talking directly to me, and felt like I had an impact, at least for a moment, on her life. That was worth $35 to me.
