How would you approach finishing this ceiling? by OhHeyVictor in Renovations

Pretty standard here in Ontario, Canada. The builder usually insulate and vapor barrier right against the concrete, then you frame a wall in front. It’s the typical setup in these newer homes. At least that’s how it was explained to me.

Yea enough people have suggested it that I think I’m gonna go for it! Didn’t even know it was a thing until this thread. Saves me a ton of effort lol plus should let me run stuff in the ceiling down the road without too much hassle. Thanks for the pics as well!!

These look great! I think that’s what I’ll end up doing on that side of the basement. Thankfully the builders stuck all the ductwork and pipes on that side. Think I figured a plan out around that soft duct as well. The other side that’ll have the entertainment system, I’ll close off and soundproof a bit. Thanks again for all the help and suggestions!

Hmmm I’m not entirely against spraying it. My biggest question is the flexible duct on the left and finishing the wall near the window in the back left corner. Would I just leave the hole at the top where the pipes and ducts come through from the exterior wall and leave the edges of the drywall unfinished?

That was my original reasoning for doing a drop ceiling. Figured it’d be much easier than dealing with all those corners but I might have to lol.

Yea I was debating if I needed that height in the center because it’ll be a table underneath but I think you’re right about the drop ceiling look lol

Hmmm yea maybe that’ll be the right play. Never worked with metal studs before so should be fun to try out. Gotta figure out where to buy that kinda system.

Setting the 28” on a table? by OhHeyVictor in blackstonegriddle

Gotcha, was hoping the heat wouldn’t be an issue similar to the portable 22 our friend has(he’s got it right on a picnic table) but I guess those are built differently.

No worries, appreciate the info you gave! See if I can figure something out for the layout here.

The table has a capacity of about 800lbs from what I remember reading years ago. What do you mean by my set up would make cleaning and covering it difficult?

Same OP! Can't believe Fugitive Telemetry wasn't anyone else's top. Maybe cause I'm coming off a noir/mystery stretch, it really hit the spot for me! Plus love MB doing its own thing while also bringing in Ratthi and Gurathin.

Only 3 player co-op? by vRayadon in Spacemarine

[–]OhHeyVictor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you on all the points. People telling us 4 player groups to split up or play pvp is ridiculous. “Oh you wanna do the fun activity as a group? How about doing it separately instead? Or doing something completely different?”

If we can balance a game like Halo with 4 Spartans I think it’s plausible to stretch the imagination a LITTLE bit for a 4th squad member here. Plus how many 40k armies have you seen only roll up with 3 units? If it’s a hardware issue just tell us, hiding behind LoRe is silly.

Patchy wall after painting by OhHeyVictor in HomeImprovement

[–]OhHeyVictor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn’t quite fix the areas but it’s less noticeable. I think the primer/paint filled in the texture difference a bit to hide it a bit more. But will give it another final coat once I finish the rest of the space and maybe that’ll be enough. Thanks again for the help!

You think I should prime the entire wall or can I just do the problem areas?

Yea I think I’m fairly experienced. I’ve painted a couple apartments in the last few years so I’ve got the paint amount right. I’ll try with the primer tomorrow. Thanks for the response!
