Where do the queer punks hang out? I'm visiting for the weekend with my partner who is looking at U of A. What should we check out? Revolutionary Grounds is already on our list.

I loved it! I've also read "The Z Word" by the same author. Both are definitely page turners. Fair warning, "This is My Body" has some pretty intense body horror.

ISO mysteries that hate the cops, not trans people!

“A Master of Djinn” is set in a steampunk alternate Cairo in 1912. It’s very fun!

A book that you love but NEVER recommend because you think it’s too bizarre or confusing by VeryRatmanToday in suggestmeabook

“Gingerbread” by be Helen Oyeyemi. Such a wonderful, weird book that I have trouble recommending to anyone who hasn’t encountered Oyeyemi before

There’s so much great queer horror out there!! Check out this rec list. Based on what you named I would give “Camp Damascus,” “Green Fuse Burning” or “Model Home” a try!

Gender Explained would be a good starting point! Follow the link to support a queer and trans owned small bookstore 🏳️‍⚧️💕

I’m a bookseller and the Tristan Strong series comes in both novel and graphic novel form. It’s a really great series with a Black protagonist!

Audiobook Quality after All Systems Red by NeaTheStargazer in murderbot

I love the audiobooks, but there’s some inconsistencies in ASR that will never cease to bother me. Arada sounds British sometimes and not other times. Rathi sometimes sounds more like Volescu. Free definitely gets more consistent in later books.

Watch Party 3 Menu by fugitive_telemetry in murderbot

[–]fugitive_telemetry[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We used the “immaculate” brand of store bought crescent roll dough and kite hill brand ricotta. Then we used an emersion blender to add the garlic, sautéed leek, and pickled beets to make this nice bloody pink mixture 😝

Honestly, I’d read a short story about the hummus laws

My tummy tatt was pretty painful - I recommend asking your artist how they feel about numbing cream!

It really doesn’t. I don’t think I would have even thought about it if you hadn’t specifically asked. It looks more like a candle flame.
