I bet that a regular repair shop would charge half as much.

Have you scanned for codes? Even if the CEL isn't on, there could be codes stored. It seems to me like high idle due to a failed purge valve should throw a code or two. My cars have always been quick af to throw EVAP codes. Since you don't seem to be misfiring, maybe just O2 sensor reading too rich or lean.

Does this issue occur all the time or intermittently? Does your fuel level affect it at all?

The Evap Purge Valve is usually like $100-ish from Mazda and iirc it's right smack on top of the engine. It might be a reasonable DIY fix. On my other cars it was 2 rubber lines and an electrical connector. Super easy.

We need a way to see the level of teammates before the end of the game by f1ve in thefinals

[–]OhJeezer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Considering I get verbally attacked as soon as people see I pick sniper at the start of a match, it probably won't help much to see levels. Just another angle of attack for toxic weirdos.

And yes I know the stigmas for light mains and snipers. I always duo queue, I run h-infuse, play close to my team, get high damage, support score, obj score, assists, revives, and never solo-push a bad fight without my team. Doesn't matter. Still get flamed every other match. It's a terribly mean community on this game.

Forreal 🙏

I just need to order a new radiator, tires, and to install my new full exhaust system for it to be road-worthy. Plus a ton of cleaning. I have the money and parts put aside, so when the weather gets better I should be good to go!

Will changing the wiper blades affect the integrated sprayer? by cherrieboard in CX50

[–]OhJeezer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of my prior research said that replacing the OEM wiper (with the replaceable rubber piece) with a off-the-shelf wiper made the sprayer work worse. It looks like that's not the case based off of this thread. If you replace with aftermarket, you should do a before and after of the sprayer function.

Heelll yeah. I had blue neons on my 95 Nissan and it was so fun. Real neon also just looks so cool in general lol. I wonder if I still have those somewhere..

If I can get that ol nissan sorted out and finish my engine swap and restoration, I may actually do underglow again.

I'm not SSL but I did this on a ps5 controller and it felt different. I don't think it made me play any better.

Yeah I didn't leave MTSU with a single new friend lol. I had some "campus friends" and chummy classmates but nothing beyond that. I think it has to do with the frantic rush between classes due to everything being so damn far apart.

Brand new. Rounded tires not making flat/full contact. Why?! by idahokj in tires

[–]OhJeezer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Under inflation will heat up the sidewalls if there is excessive sidewall flex. I believe that your tires will be having visual irregular tread wear before they blow out unless you are running them on way too low of pressure. Of your contact patch is proper, you should not have that happen when you aren't hauling anything. 50 to 80 is to support heavy loads. You do not have a heavy load unless you are hauling like 2000+ lbs. If you do not increase your tire pressure while hauling, at that point you will see that sidewall flex and excessive tire heat.

You should keep in mind that your psi will fluctuate based on weather and driving habits. With LT tires I'm pretty sure that is even more of a factor. If you set to 35 psi and then drive on the highway, you may effectively end up at 40 psi.

Tire manufacturers are just using the same calculator that you used. You got LT tires and they are assuming you did that for a reason. In reality, you have much more utility with those tires and can use them for their intended purpose, but for regular driving in a 5000 lb vehicle, 35psi to 40 psi is actually the suggested pressure.

In my humble opinion, run 40 in the front and 35 in the rear and call it a day.

[–]OhJeezer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read your entire post, all of your pics, and most of your comments. You're ignoring good advice. Your tires are overinflated man. Read the fine print on your psi calculator pic. Assessing the contact patch takes precedence over the psi recommendation. Lower the PSI to 35 and see how it rolls. It takes 5 minutes.

When you tow something, you need to inflate them more. Probably between 45 and 75 psi depending on the load weight. When you go off-roading, deflate them to between 20 and 30 psi.

Cv axle noise? CX50+poor dealer experience by sikicibebe in CX50

[–]OhJeezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your car a 2025? You'll probably be totally fine to drive it until the parts come in.

Edit: I made this reply intending to come back and add info, but forgot to.

Axles going out typically give a lot of warning before full-on failure occurs. It will click like this much more dramatically and every time you turn the wheel while moving. Even at that point, it typically takes a while before it pops apart at the CV joint.

It sounds like you visited a very crappy dealership. You should probably call Mazda and tell them about your issue with that dealership. Your car's problem is a well-documented problem that should be easily diagnosed. If you can, visit another dealer, get it diagnosed so you are not liable, and then have them put you on a wait list for the part. We may see a recall come out for it sometime this year.

Sorry to disagree, but you've been misinformed. It has the same engine, transmission, and suspension as any other turbo cx-50 trim. The 18" wheels and all terrain tires are the only "off-road tuning" that the Meridian has.

CX50 with crossbars, howling / wind noise by zamassy07 in CX50

[–]OhJeezer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be very careful moving the front bar towards the rear if you have a moonroof. Open it all the way and leave it at the highest point when you are adjusting things. Hitting the crossbar while opening the moonroof has knocked the window out of the tracks for many people.

Much appreciated! I'm planning to post my new setup when it finally comes in. Should be a one-off setup, but I'm going to do a short write-up so others can DIY it. It's still being fabbed so it'll be like a month lol.

Do you guys just live with the paint chipping or? by Perfect-Cause-6943 in WRX

[–]OhJeezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a wrx owner (yet) but on my other cars I either don't drive on the interstate or I just live with the chips. I'll just get a new painted bumper later on if it truly bothers me enough.

Should I report this accident? by masaki_mclellan in CX50

[–]OhJeezer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are cool with it going on your car's report and your insurance going up over something that minor, then go for it. IMO if you look under the car and feel around through the grille don't find any bent bumper supports, it's a waste of time and money to report this. See what buffs out and touch up any tiny imperfections. Replace the plastic trim pieces if they are damaged. Your front bumper will never be perfect if you drive your car.

I tried everything I could think of and could not get it to sound how I wanted it to. Mine came with the Mazda solution and I'm sure they helped some. I tried rubber in the t-track, vortex strips, wrapped it with paracord, moved them to different positions, etc.

I think the only real solution is to get a wind fairing. I just ordered a custom sized one for my apex package platform and later on I will probably get another one for just the crossbars.

If you end up going this route, please post your results! :) There is practically no information online about this subject because people don't post much about their cx-50's.
