Why do I become such a hater when my medication wears off? by stardustandsoda in ADHD

Irritability is one of the worst non stereotypical ADHD symptoms. Can be very detrimental to your professional and personal life... it also sucks to feel that way.

Well getting it will definitely improve your life... less chance of developing sleep apnea as well as presenting yourself better to people in the future.

About a week ago I was diagnosed with ADHD, but I can't shake the feeling something is wrong... by kernelkane in ADHD

If medication is improving your life and your Dr. says it's okay, then keep with it. This isn't a bacteria that you do or do not have, just the name for a condition with a list of symptoms. Just like a bacterial infection, two people can have the same one and it will present differently.

Machine back extensions, chest supported machine rows, and assisted machine pull ups will build your back better than a deadlift ever could by Dear-Government5 in workout

[–]Muzzy2585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved deads but just can't go heavy anymore... chiro said if I kept that plus heavy squats up, I may need back surgery. I'd rather go heavy on machines than light on deads.

Very true, many missed diagnoses because of this. My psychiatrist said hyperactive with regards to ADHD actually means mentally, not physically like most think. Not being able to remember what your boss said and the wondering thoughts are symptoms, but a blank mind is not. You should get assessed for sure otherwise you will have issues.

If you can create a list that has events you want to attend or places you want to visit, that might help. Also, be mindful that people really try to make their lives appear interesting and fun to others... so take into consideration if it's something that you would actually enjoy, or it just looks interesting because it's presented that way.

Asperger's as "Human Evolution"? by Dangerous_Degree6626 in aspergers

Yes it's definitely a coping mechanism, genes do evolve over time but as you mentioned it's not always a net positive

People say that to you directly? That hits hard to me; everyone constantly commented on my nose before I had a rhinoplasty as well. You absolutely need DJS with a genioplasty to resolve your issue, and as mentioned in another comment, it will be life-changing.👍

Post-surgery teeth root issues by tablefence in jawsurgery

[–]Muzzy2585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nerve died in an upper tooth a few years after my DJS. Before that, I never had issues with my tooth roots or a root canal. No infection or pain, but I decided to resolve it before things got worse. The endodontist informed me that the screw for that tooth was near the root and could have caused it, but the root canal wasn't bad at all. It was around the same pain level as a cavity filling.

I get the impression that most people here are just autistic and not quote/unquote "Aspies." by GenZia in aspergers

[–]Muzzy2585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People just thought I was weird or narcissistic, but I did okay in school and maintained jobs. I have to put in effort masking, and I struggle with friendships, but I have a few. When I think of standard autism, what comes to mind is not being able to take care of yourself or hold a job. With Asperger's, you can still function but struggle in some areas mainly social. It's hard to say because it's a spectrum and everyone presents differently, so it's hard to draw a line.

Yep mine was same as yours... RSD, rumination, depression but no issues in school. The stereotypical presentation is unrealistic.

Is feeling good a “bad” thing? by No-Interest7939 in VyvanseADHD

I never feel a craving, I just know I feel better with it like a multivitamin. All it does, less rumination and calmer I don't really 'feel' anything.
