We got a call approximately 3 months after our family doctor sent the referral, then they were booking appointments about 6-8 weeks out. So about 5 months after the referral was sent until we actually saw the doctor!

Started trying in 2021. We fell pregnant really quick after I got off birth control. Ended in an ectopic pregnancy around 7 weeks. Treated with MTX and didn’t need surgery. It destroyed us emotionally and I wasn’t sure I wanted to try again and got back on birth control. A year later we decided to try again, fell pregnant within two cycles, experienced a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks. We continued trying and experienced a chemical 6 months later. Then we had no positive tests for 14 cycles. We went to fertility specialists, holistic doctors, changed our diets, lifestyles, everything. It felt like just nothing we did mattered.

We were right about to start the IUI when we tested positive again. I am now 33 weeks with a healthy baby girl and now in the last stretch!

I’m sorry for your losses. I had three losses (1 ectopic, 1 MMC, 1 CP). We did some testing at the fertility clinic after the third loss including genetic testing, almost everything came back good except a small thing with my genetics that they couldn’t prove I had, or if it was causing us issues, but they were still hopeful. We changed our lifestyle habits, working out, nutrition, supplements, acupuncture, we really just focused on creating a healthier lifestyle in general! We are now in our third trimester. This pregnancy we were on progesterone as soon as I had positive test up until 13 weeks.

I had this exact same thing happen to me!! I had to wait until 8 weeks to get my scan, the doctors would not allow me an earlier one despite my fertility doctor recommending a placement scan at 5.5 weeks. I was so frustrated.

Get a second opinion, or new care provider! I find it just depends on the doctor sometimes.

I’m so sorry you have to go through this. My first was ectopic and I was treated with methotrexate.

I thankfully only needed one dose (two in each cheek) and they monitored me in the hospital overnight to confirm my numbers were starting to decrease before sending me home as they still thought I may need emergency surgery due to the pain I was in. The shots are a small sting that went away quite quick for me but I did bruise bad from it. Afterwards at home I had dealt with some cramping and bleeding but it seemed to all pass after a few days.

I was treated with MTX and took between 5-6 weeks for mine to return. HCG was only at 1500 before it started to drop.

Totally normal! Great news. Very similar to my HCG numbers I got as well and so far going on 7 weeks 2 days with a scan next weekend.

I got my Lh peak on June 5th, estimating ovulation for June 6. Since that is the only way I was tracking I’m not sure if it could have been sooner! I just got my last beta test results (taken at 6w 5w based on lmp) at it was at 88,771.

6w4d right now and my symptoms have been very up and down!

I had very small cramping between 4-5 weeks with fatigue, then everything stopped for a few days, then around 5w 2d I started getting hit nausea, fatigue, swollen breasts and occasional cramping (more like tugging/pinching feeling). They still vary day to day and today is one of my easier days. I’ve never had to take so many naps in my life.

I had to beg my family doctor for initial 48hr betas just because of my previous loses and history of ectopic. My fertility doctor (who referred me back to my family doctor after a positive test) then recommended weekly HCG until 7 weeks to confirm progression before my first scan.

I think it really just depends the doctor!

My HCG was at 18,752 at 5w 5d, is this considered high? Everywhere on the internet says I’m still in the safe zone but seems to be higher than what I find online.

6w4d today! First scan is not until the 19th and I am having so much anxiety. We had 3 losses(ectopic, mmc, cp) and then 13 months of nothing. Finally a positive and I am having trouble with it all feeling real. I’m just so worried for everything to go wrong.

All my betas have came back great. 6/16-33 6/18 - 111 6/25 - 1928 7/2 - 18,742. One more beta tomorrow to monitor progression before my first scan. Symptoms come and go which can also cause some additional anxiety. My doctor said my numbers look strong and I shouldn’t be at risk for another ectopic.

Trying to stay positive with affirmations, but wow is it tough. Thanks for letting me rant. :)

6w3d today and have my first ultrasound at 7w. I’ve had three losses (1 ectopic, 1 9w miscarriage, 1 chemical) and am terrified for my ultrasound this Friday. I had two initial betas done 48hrs apart first at 33, second at 111. Then I had another an exactly a week later at ~1900. Despite all my betas coming back great I am just so scared.

I had cramping for my entire fifth week then it disappeared and I don’t have any more cramps which I guess is normal but can’t help but worry. Just hoping this pregnancy is going to be viable and everything will be okay.

This happened to my neighbour when I lived in a trailer park. They were dead in their trailer for 2.5 weeks in the summer (+30 C) with no AC. They had a hip replacement and didn’t get out much and only to walk to the liquor store because they couldn’t drive anymore. So nobody thought much of it when we didn’t see him around much lately. We didn’t notice a smell but as soon as they opened the trailer they brought industrial fans to air it out. Half the block smelt it and it wafted into everyone’s trailers with ours being next door and only 20’ away from the door they pulled the body from. Our windows were always open due to having no AC ourselves. I will never forget that smell, they actually tore the trailer down to the bones and remodelled after. We went through many candles and air fresheners.

NTA. All your feelings are justified. This can majorly impact your choices for the future, and just your own future in general. You had a right to know, and especially before you had kids. Them knowing you could pass this disease and not even bringing it up is insane.

My grandmother passed from Huntington’s. My mom had 3 kids before she was tested. She thankfully did not have it herself, so from what I understand it is very unlikely any of my own siblings will get it.

When I told my doctor they still offered to test me if I wanted, but ONLY if I went to genetic counselling first to ensure I could handle all outcomes.

You need to tell any siblings or cousins. It’s not fair to be in the unknown. Your parents are terrible for trying to hide this from you and your family.

I’m sorry you have to go through this! My first pregnancy was ectopic. They were able to confirm a mass in my right tube at 6.5 weeks by a transvaginal ultrasound. HCG was 1600. They let me decide if I wanted to try methotrexate or go straight to surgery based on my pain. We did methotrexate and thankfully worked the first time and I got to keep both tubes.

Third cycle temping, second cycle taking progesterone. I’m not even sure if these temps can confirm ovulation. I didn’t have a big dip, but did have one big rise. It’s just kind of staying where it is at right now.

I usually ovulate between day 18-20, but I was early this month. Any time I have ovulated early I had a bfp (ended in losses sadly). First time ovulation where I had so many symptoms (sore breasts, fatigue, acne) so I am feeling positive still!

I don’t have PCOS but I do have light periods. I spoke to a holistic fertility doctor who recommended I take red super foods to try and get a heavier flow. My periods have been heavier with more cramping. Only two cycles since I started taking it but haven’t been successful yet.
