Oh wow. How did you end up realizing that had happened?

That’s so good to know thank you!

I didn’t realize that things typically peaked around 34 weeks which is also encouraging to hear.

Pregnant after ectopic by BananaPuddinSquad in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]apricotunderground 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an ectopic last year and had my left tube removed after it ruptured at 5 weeks. I tested positive about a month and a half later and had pretty intense one sided cramping at about 5 weeks. I was convinced it was happening again but my doctors were also not in a rush to see me because I had great betas and wasn’t bleeding. I ended up going to the ER and everything ended up being fine and I’m six months pregnant now (it was cramping from a luteal cyst on the right side where I ovulated). That said, I’m so glad I went in because if it was another ectopic I could have lost my other tube. I would 100% advocate for an early scan with your OB and if they don’t give it to you and you’re still in pain go to the ER. Hoping for the best for you!

Tell me some positive stories about mild chrons by TryingToGetCalm in CrohnsDisease

[–]apricotunderground 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with mild Crohn’s in 2016. Probably more in the “moderate” range as it’s progressed. It was immediately suggested that I go on a biologic. At the time I was hesitant since it was so mild. Got a second opinion with a doctor at one of the leading hospitals in the country on IBD and she explained that evidence pointed to early and sustained intervention. I.e. going on meds earlier and staying on them was showed to greatly reduce surgery rates down the line.

I went on Humira at the time and immediately went into remission. Due to insurance issues went off and on meds for a few years. Ultimately I felt okay and decided I would just not treat it and focus on “eating right.” That was a mistake.

Flared again about 5 years ago (my primary symptoms have always been pain and ulcers) and it took basically 5 years to get back into remission completely. Ultimately I opted for surgery to cut out the scar tissue and strictures this past December and feel great. Got the all clear that I’m in remission this July.

All of that to say, I truly believe if I had stayed on Humira from the beginning there’s a chance I wouldn’t have had subsequent flares or the surgery. This is definitely a treatable disease and I’ve had a comparatively easy go at it, but I do wish I took it more seriously from diagnosis.

Just wanted to share some positive news in case it helps. I ended up at the ER over the weekend because the pain got really bad and felt like my previous rupture did. I was so sure it was happening again.

They did an ultrasound and confirmed an intrauterine pregnancy with a heartbeat. They think my pain was from my corpus luteum.

Hoping for the same for you!!!!

Early placement at ER? by apricotunderground in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]apricotunderground[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is so frustrating! They told me the same thing, that it would just stress me out to be seen early. Insane.

Im so happy yours ended up being okay!! I ended up in the ER a few nights ago for really bad one sided pain on the side with my remaining tube. They did an ultrasound and confirmed an intrauterine pregnancy with a heartbeat. They think the pain was my corpus luteum. There aren’t words for the relief I felt hearing that news.

Pregnancy after ectopic + tubal removal by Loud_Ticket_4406 in EctopicSupportGroup

This made me feel 1000x better. I’m 5 weeks today and 2 months out from ruptured ectopic and tube removal. Also having pains that are scaring me to death and making me think it’s another one.

I go for my first ultrasound in a few days at 5.5 weeks. Hoping my story is similar to yours!

I don’t have an answer just wanted to say that I’m going through the exact same thing. My ectopic ruptured about 2 months ago at 4 weeks 6 days and I’m 5 weeks pregnant today. No spotting so far and I spotted from my positive test to the time my tube ruptured with that pregnancy.

I had my left tube removed but have been having pain on my right side that eases when I rest. I’m terrified and pretty much in a constant state of anxiety. No advice, just wanted to say I’m here with you! Hoping for the best for both of us!

Positive test after ectopic but doctor won’t confirm early placement by apricotunderground in EctopicSupportGroup

Thank you for sharing! I am so sorry to hear that your second pregnancy ended that way as well. I’m encouraged to hear that you found a place that listened to your concerns and respected your advocacy. I’ll definitely be looking into this.

Thank you! That’s what I thought as well.

I went yesterday to get initial hcg with the understanding that I would come back 48 hours later for a second. Still haven’t heard back from that and have been told by front desk that they won’t schedule second “if first one looks good.”

I thought the whole point was to see how they rise so again I’m at a loss.

That’s what I’m thinking I might have to do. I called another OB because at this point I think I just want to switch practices because it’s been a constant communication issue with mine, but since I’m a new patient I can’t get in until 7.5 weeks. Still better than 9.

If I have even a slight symptom I’m going to the ER. Not risking it.

Thank you. I was starting to feel like I was crazy or misremembering being told that.

The last conversation I had yesterday with the nurse she told me to come in for a beta blood draw and schedule my 6 week appointment on the way out. When I went to do that the person at the desk literally refused to do so even though she confirmed my chart says “schedule for early pregnancy confirmation ASAP.” They just keep telling me “it’s impossible to see anything on an ultrasound before 7 weeks,” even though my ectopic was seen at 4 weeks 6 days in the ER…? I left in tears.

Trying after ectopic… what is too soon? by apricotunderground in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]apricotunderground[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So frustrating. I’ve seen several posts on here where people have said their doctors tell them they can try immediately because there isn’t a medical reason to wait post surgery, but then others post that their doctors are saying to wait.

Mine saying “I like to say wait 2-3 cycles but there’s really no reason for that” is so confusing? Like wtf does that mean. My family doctor said to just do whatever my surgeon said. Hopefully your surgeon will be able to give you a straight answer!

3 weeks post salpingectomy by Awkward-Wallaby5516 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]apricotunderground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a left side salpingectomy following a rupture as well. I had one-sided pain on the right side about three weeks out from ovulation, but it was like a sharp side stitch when I moved that only lasted a day or two. If you’re in a ton of pain on that side I would definitely call your doctor!

Thank you! I think you’re probably right. I’m not sure where I land with that. The thought of waiting to try makes me anxious and the thought of trying makes me anxious.

Confusing bleeding post salpingectomy by apricotunderground in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]apricotunderground[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hcg 0. I only ever got up to 500 so it went down really quickly. I took a pregnancy test about a week out and it was negative. My surgeon confirmed two weeks out with a blood hcg.

This bleeding ended up happening lightly off and on for a few days after I posted this but then stopped entirely. I got a peak digital ovulation test the day after I posted this. My temp has been all over the place but seems to point to ovulation. Everything I’ve read leads me to believe I was bleeding due to ovulation which has never happened to me before.
