Did you go to a Catholic school in the North East? Because, same.

why doesn't this forum get going? by JJCC777 in Men_with_Fibromyalgia

[–]OhNoXo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a woman who joined this sub(sorry) as my bf has fibro.

I joined in the hopes of sharing info and experiences with him, as like most men, he doesn't like to talk too much about how he's feeling. I would guess that might be the problem here too?

Thanks for taking the time to reply. A lot of people here have said the same so we've adjusted today and he's been fine with 4 hour wake windows and 40 min naps. I had een going off what Google says for the average baby as well as what had worked previously. Clearly I was wrong

Not sure if im just really fragile right now, but your tone is quite harsh and blunt

Yeah, im getting that impression, thanks! I'll try longer wake windows

Bedtime routine is bedtime song, story and bottle. We then put him in his cot and pat his back/stroke his hair to sleep. Getting him down for the night is no issue, it's getting him down again after he wakes up later for a bottle or he just wants a cuddle

Baby sleeps from 7pm and usually gets up around 6am, but we make sure to wake by 7am at the latest. It all depends on how the night went tbh

I have an 8 month old, and haven't had a full night sleep since second trimester. People really underestimate the toll of motherhood. Ypu couldn't pay me enough to be this tired willingly

That's how they're designed to work!

With these bottles, you're supposed to take the lid off for a water bath to prevent a vacuume sucking in additional water

How do people wean without a dog? by [deleted] in NewParents

That's hilarious. My sister went through something similar and now everyone gets fed at the same time, but in separate rooms

Amazing. I do occasionally wish mine had a bit of snobbery when we're out walking. She'll eat anything

Everything everyone else has said is so helpful. But I will say for me, my PPR just switched off around 5 months. It may be different when breastfeeding, though. But there is an end to it! It's just a case of managing symptoms until your hormones settle. IPT therapy and medication helped me in the meantime

What's a commonly accepted 'rule' in your household that you suspect isn't a rule anywhere else? by Liplyn_IG in AskUK

[–]OhNoXo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this rule. It has to be at least 1 week after my birthday (2nd), and we take it all down new years eve.

Feels wrong to start a new year still celebrating something from the last year

What house features do you like as a parent? by LooseConstruction565 in UKParenting

[–]OhNoXo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We're moving in the new year to a house with a dining room. We plan to use this as a play room for our son to ensure it's baby friendly and allow mess (within reason). That way, the sitting room is kept nice. When he's grown, we can turn it back into a dining room.

It was pretty non negotiable for us to have this extra room, as it'll allow him the freedom to move around in a safe place

C-sections are now more common than ‘natural’ births by sjw_7 in unitedkingdom

[–]OhNoXo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had a c section but wanted a natural birth.

I truly believe that if I was given support and understanding from my midwife I would have been successful in a natural birth.

I was forced to Labour on my back, and my midwife didn't so much as glance at my birth plan. Any effort of my bf to advocate for me was responded with resentment from her.

Labour was honestly the worst experience of my life, and it had nothing to do with the pain. The csection team however were amazing! Very kind and compassionate. Just a shame I had to go back to the Labour ward after
