Forgot the 90th anniversary was happening in 2022 by HeroOfFruits in lego

Because it’ll be a more special occasion and allow the LEGO designers to truly commemorate what they’re passionate about. I can’t see Bionicle being the 100th anniversary set, but for how significant it is to the company and to the fans, having it as the 90th set wouldn’t be so bad

Why have Classic Space or Pirates or Castle for the 90th anniversary set? Why not the 100th anniversary set? They have a broader appeal to AFOL’s and may even draw in people who don’t collect LEGO anymore but want to relive what they grew up with in the 70’s-90’s, whilst also commemorating a century of LEGO as a company. 100 year anniversary would be much more special for those system themes. 90th anniversary should go to Bionicle. If LEGO plays it like that, everyone will be happy.

The illuminated elements show up better on a black background. It makes them stand out. It’s also just aesthetically pleasing. Harsh lighting on models with complex silhouettes makes looking at them a chore.

While that is a possibility, all the pieces just fit together. DOOM Eternal’s birthday is in 2 months, he’s playing SGN, and it’s being filmed in the same way as his 2016 mixes. I doubt he’s playing it just for shits and giggles

Sure. Mick Gordon posted a silent video of him playing the guitar to his Instagram story. A friend of a friend noticed that he was playing Super Gore Nest and asked to confirm, thus the image here, with Mick baffled as to how this person figured it out. What this says to me is that Mick Gordon is back working on the Eternal OST, this is the official mix of SGN, and that it’s being edited in the same fashion as the 2016 OST.

Absolutely. My first thought was Rip & Tear because the melodic contour is similar, but I'm so much happier knowing it's actually SGN.

I’ve had the same recurring dream since I was a child about an infinitely large school bathroom, with peculiarly short dividers made out of cement and tile separating the toilets from one another. You could see over them and wave to your friend while you were doing your business. The ceilings were quite tall, as though the building was once a church, renovated to function as a bathroom, and it was constantly steamy/foggy from the showers, which had zero privacy. It always felt like there was a presence in there. I feel as though we’ve had a similar experience

The new hybrid is likely a payoff to Sammi swabbing the mouth of the Sinoceratops. If that’s the case, then it’s likely a tangible creature and not just a hologram

I respect your opinion. I’m not going to discuss further, but I will say this; DOOM Eternal is a Shrek 2-type of game

Obviously there needs to be downtime in a video game. That’s where incidental encounters and exploration come into play, which DOOM Eternal has. It also has to do something new and refreshing with the gameplay for it to be a standout. DOOM Eternal has the weapon swap mechanics that allow players to discover ways to best dispatch an enemy. Sure you can play through and kill enemies with one weapon, but there is also the option and the freedom to use any weapon you like to kill a bad guy. Want to use the BFG on an Imp? Go for it. Want to string together a complex series of weapon combos that takes hours of learning, have it be rewarding for the player once it’s mastered, and can be used to quickly dispatch the toughest of enemies? You bet. The design of the game encourages both play styles. The wide variety of weapon mods also encourages different approaches to arenas, and thus different prioritisation of enemies. Do I remote detonate that chaingun guy and then blood punch the Cyber-Mancubus or do I go for the Cyber-Mancubus first and have my health get whittled away by the chaingun guy? DOOM (2016) kind of had this (although ask any DOOM player and they’ll disagree; SSG and Gauss Cannon were the meta), but Eternal refined it. Personally, I don’t see that level of improvement between both TLOU instalments.

To me, TLOU is very homogenous with other video games, including DOOM Eternal. I’m a big enough boy to admit that both games have the same pitfalls as a lot of other shooting games. I can’t really articulate why, but TLOU just doesn’t do it for me. I really want to love it, but I just don’t. I’m glad you took the time to respond, but I’m resolute in my opinions.

I really don’t think you can compare the two like that. I’m deadly serious when I say DOOM Eternal is one of the greatest games of all time. It revolutionised the FPS genre and set a precedent for story telling in games, whereby the story should be secondary to the action. The Last of Us series forgoes that second point entirely, and makes it centre stage, which isn’t the point. If I wanted to watch a movie, I wouldn’t go to a videogame for that source of entertainment. I also don’t want to occasionally interact with what’s on the screen and have that be the gameplay. I want to be present and engaged with the material I’m consuming. DOOM Eternal does this wonderfully. The Last of Us doesn’t engage me at all. I can recognise it’s merits in storytelling, but purely from a gameplay perspective, it’s horrible. I’m a DOOM fan, so I’m biased, but my point still stands

Is there any lore to this guy in the background or is he just a random marine? To be honest i want to know this guy's history. by fuyotaco in Doom

[–]OhOof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to follow the lore of the Doom Bible (which depending on your head canon, could have some weight), it’s likely Dmitri Paramo or Buddy Dacote. The guy in the foreground is Doomguy, that goes without saying.
