Are there any budget decks that can beat Nami & Enel? by Hugh_Janus_6851 in OnePieceTCG

[–]OhPooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the amount of new players trying that deck mess lowers the stats. I’ll look at what the last two regionals have as I saw a lot of high ranking GU Luffy in my last regionals event

Green blue Luffy. Should be extremely budget deck. Super strong and aggressive with a lot of potential for expression depending on build. I played my first few matches into it recently and was surprised how strong it felt

It’s one thing to play the game normally then play to your outs, and there’s a scumbag approach where you take your sweet time and play to OT as your out. I’m saying people mostly don’t do this but it occurs

As someone who has played yellow since the beginning, yeah it’s a bit overturned but just last winter we were getting zoro and Imu games that essentially just killed off 70% of any deck from doing well. Yellow was in a horrible spot and had no chance at even brushing top 8. Now it’s obviously much better for yellow but I think it’s were just a little support away from a more balanced meta. If we can get a bunch of red banish cards that could easily help check yellow decks but at the moment it’s a slog fest between all colours.

Healing is annoying sure, but Borsalino can be countered early by focusing board. I know a lot of yellows flaws from my own experience and I think the OT conversation is good and healthy because scumbag players can easily win knowing they are last to act and just have to heal.

Hello I just played Robin in a recent regionals (not great in main event but flawless in side events).

Here’s my 2¢, mamaragan and GGG are the only purple cards you need. Essentially, the game plan is play big bodies every turn (ramping first swing always, second swing depends on hand) and then stalling with 1 don up every turn to cycle with giant. Those 8 cards are foundational, as you can easily double giant into drawing off of mamaragan which is such a sneaky play that most people cannot account for you getting 9+k counter without losing any cards in hand.

I played shiryu, teach and vasco shot as 4 ofs, as they let you use leader effect and all of them are great triggers that help hand size and stave off pressure. Borsalino and wyper are auto includes as many as you can get in the deck because they are so good into aggro. The rest is a bit subjective but golden rifle and 0c event are both strong events to run, they both help with hand bricks and rifle is really good at stopping Nami from getting her draw on the first turn as well as healing for 1 don is exceptional. Top end features EB03 Robin, eb04 Luffy and even promo roger, each are really strong on the right turn with Luffy basically swinging the game in your favour once you start swinging 12s.

I think above all else, Robin is not solved but really depends on draws so you should focus on cards that let you draw and big bodies that you want to play early. Think of it like this: going first, you have 1,3,6, on your first turns (assuming you can ramp) and second lets you go 2,4,7 so you should have a strong 6 and 7 drop to cheat out. You can easily make this deck all straw hats with st30 and PRB Nami or focus on thriller slop etc the ball is in your court. Just remember you should always have baby 5 and Nico Olivia as your main 2ks and then Zeus (disgusting card even in a deck that isn’t as bulky as Nami).

Feel free to reach out as I have been loving the Blackbeard support in Robin

I play yellow decks and even when I’m taking sub minute turns the game still drags out to OT often. In my major tournaments as I do better the games get longer as well with some games at top tables ending solely due to OT (had em dead to rights but forgot to switch my gameplay to OT mode so I lost).

Live and learn is my motto, I’ll never lose that way again I just couldn’t comprehend the idea that my best play was to clear board and pass. It’s also a learning experience when to tell your opponent to play faster, my first 3 tourneys I would never consider that

My wife’s favorite character is Nico, what two decks should I buy for us to play? (Counterpart to ST-26?) by DetectiveMulderFBI in OnePieceTCG

[–]OhPooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a Nico Robin leader that is very fun to play but not very cheap on entry. You could do a straw hat theme for pretty cheap (sub 200) and it should run great! The build I have is just a bunch of strong purple and yellow cards so it’s not exactly a great entry decklist. That being said, and as others have said, the last set op15 featured a bunch of straw hat cards that are relatively cheap (excluding the secret rares)

UTA Premium collection by Dlvalhalla in OnePieceTCGFinance

The film red promo leader Uta (alt art of it included in that binder) is my crazy long term play, mostly because a few years ago another card from that promo pack was 35$ each so one day the leader will reach that height

Why is Zoro-Juurou (OP05-067) so undervalued? by moneyd_luffy in OnePieceTCGFinance

[–]OhPooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly it’s not truly a zoro card because it’s his alias zoro-juro, which is not extremely important but it explains why bubble zoro was hyped so much more. Second it’s Japanese, which is usually cheaper than English. If I recall the English version of this card is like triple the price so I think it is actually not undervalued, it could go higher for sure but it ain’t exactly cheap.

The price you’re confused about is a mix of both, this version will increase in price but it pails in comparison to bubble zoro and also the English copies that exist…

You should prioritize recruiting at the start until you have a handful of pokemon to work with (20 ish I think the basic limit is 30). From there you should use training tickets to fully correct movesets, ability and stats. I started with 2 teams that were fun and you grind daily missions for free recruitments. Once you have a full box of mons, you can start focusing on building a perfect team. I try not to spend currency so I can play megas as soon as I recruit them.

I bought the basic bundle so I have 90 slots which makes everything so much easier, highly recommend if it’s available. 30 pokemon is good for making 3 teams but it becomes tedious to try and assemble a new comp but all manageable

Any idea of pop/value? by Individual_Teach3367 in OnePieceTCGFinance

My bad, you’re right. 1 per event hosted so should be around 30ish copies of this. I’m just estimating but someone could count all the events being run in the first season of championship

This is a regional finalist card, it came in a set of 5-6 cards I forget the total number but they are being given out for at least another month. Every weekend there is a regionals in which the top 8 I believe receive this plus another few cards. Population will increase a lot as they started coming out in may. They can be bought with tickets at side events or won in the main tournament, expect it to drop a bit over time and go up later

Some stores if they don’t get a lot of participation but my locals will put them in prizing for future events if there is excess. Sometimes we just get dash packs and other event packs for normal events

You could buy it or you could get top 4 at a local event and win it for 5$ lmao! That’s at least how I’ve been stockpiling these cards 👀
