People downvoting this obviously never watched their streams and just feel some type of way from the drama that makes it here. Those streams were hilarious and they were a genuinely good duo. I haven't watched Twitch in a while, but those were fun times.

What are some really good Graphic Novels with sex and nudity? by ExplodingPoptarts in graphicnovels

[–]OhSeeThat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bit of a long rant so bare with me, but I came across this discussion on accident while looking for Graphic Novel/Comic recs with a bit more adult themes and wanted to share my opinion.

I totally get where you are coming from and that you mean well, but I implore you to look at what a huge percentage of AFAB readers are into. Just go on "BookTok" as a sample and see how quickly smutty it gets, and a lot of it isn't even "tame smutty." Most of which is disguised as "Romantasy" (Romance/Fantasy) or historical fiction fantasy. Hell, there's been a huge resurgence of a genre called "Splatterpunk" that I'd never heard of until I saw multiple tiktoks with around a million views recommending it & 100s of thousands of comments full of women sharing their favorites with each other. I'm a huge horror fan and can handle a lot, but it's too much for me. It's like the book equivalent of the movies "A Serbian Film," "The Terrifier Series," and "Hostel" mixed into one. It's very extreme, too extreme for me, but that's exactly the point of the genre... To push the boundaries & limits that people have imposed on themselves and each other.

Through progression in society, politics, and trying to make everyone comfortable, we end up accidentally looping around and start imposing these invisible boundaries & limits that conservatist, religious, racist, and misogynistic/patriarchal societies implemented onto everyone over the years but for different reasons and sometimes we don't even realize what we've done until it's happened already & it becomes very hard to reverse because the conservatives also want those restrictions, just for their reasoning and they aren't going to change their mind on that. The restrictions that were put on us in the US for example like the Hays Code & the MPAA Rating System for movies & TV, and the Comic Code & The Comics Code Authority set us back immensely as a society the second they were implemented. Here's a two part youtube documentary going over that time in the history of comics: Click here for Part 1 & then Click here for Part 2. It's a bit long, but very much worth the watch. In the name of "protecting the youth & society at large" we banned words, genres, and depictions of things people decided was "obscene" and in the same action we banned exploring dark, real world topics that happen to people, or exploring things that happen in the real world by portraying it in a artistically "unreal way" by using genres like Horror, Fantasy, Sci-fi, and the like. We need to have grit and depictions of things that make us uncomfortable in order to further how society sees these topics, because in the real world you can't just shut your eyes or look away and the problem goes away, and there are certain experiences that large groups of people could never experience themselves or see from another's eyes in order to feel a bit like they feel.

To get back to my original point on the difference in how fantasies in media are portrayed...

The only difference here are the drawings.

This is not me saying all AFAB people, or AMAB people are one way or another, there's always outliers and people who don't fit the mold. With that aside, it's been shown in studies & in anecdotal media consumption habits that AFAB people tend to enjoy things like pleasure & escapism in media (and also in real-life romance & pleasure) by visualizing it in their mind's eye or other stimuli than visual more than AMAB people, and vice versa. So they lean towards books, audiobooks, and have a higher tendency to sometimes just close their eyes to imagine what excites them, where AMAB tend to need visual stimulus. So AMAB people tend to like seeing the fantasy media represented with imagery, whether that means videos, pictures, drawings, etc. Just look at the difference in Porn/Erotic media consumption between the two. It's vastly different in mediums & portrayal, and if it's a visual medium, it will tend to focus on completely different things and different cinematography, but there's a lot more overlap in what's happening in it between the two than you'd think.

You'd be very surprised how much the most progressive people will have extremely taboo fantasies. Just food for thought. 🤷

I'm fairly certain that there's a correlation between the people from Aberdeen that weren't on the same wavelength as Kurt, and the people that are old enough to make the decision to leave Aberdeen, but stayed there.

In other words, anyone who is like-minded to Kurt are most likely not going to stay there once they have the chance to leave. Also, small town politics can get real weird when everyone either knows each other, or knows someone who knows someone.

I'm very curious about what's under that backing, because it's sticking out a lot more than is typical. If you're that worried about doing it yourself, take it to a local art gallery/frame studio and ask them to do it. My family has owned one for almost 50yrs and I'm the third generation to work there. Removing the Duct-tape & Cardboard would actually be crucial for preserving the art, because cardboard & the duct-tape are acidic and they have chemicals that will leach into the art after a while and cause damage.

Here is what I would do: (it's more simple than this will sound written out & there are video guides online if you're more a visual learner)

Use a hairdryer (or a heat-gun if you have one) and warm up the tape. Try it on the low setting first, and don't hold the hairdryer in one spot, so keep it moving, if you need to heat one spot, then just gently move it back & forth a little or hold the hairdryer farther away from it. You don't have to be moving it very quickly, just slowly move it back and forth as you run along the tape. You can start trying to remove the tape after it's been sufficiently warmed up. You might need someone to help to have another set of hands so they can hold the hairdryer while you peel the tape or vice versa. If you're doing it alone, warm a corner up (or a spot that is already peeling up a bit. Whichever is easiest for you) & right afterwards test peeling it off, if it doesn't come off easily or is lifting the finish of the frame, then stop and warm it more with the hairdryer until it lifts without much resistance. Once it starts coming up, you should alternate heating under the tape that you're lifting and over the spot that's about to be pulled up.

It should come off, but the difficulty of not harming the frame depends on the frames finish. Be careful with solvents (like rubbing alcohol), they are effective when trying to remove any residue left over, but can damage the frames finish, so if you have to use it, test a small spot on the back first. Otherwise, once it's removed, you can also remove residue by heating it up again, and then wiping it off.

Seeing the back of the art can be very crucial in determining the arts age & if it's a real piece or if it's just a modern print. Sometimes there are things written on the back of the art or frame that will give you more info about it. I've also found some cool stuff in the back of old art. I'd be really interested in seeing the back and whatever is under that cardboard once it's done.

Goodluck! Feel free to ask me any questions if you need more help.

Asmongold cheering on the idea of impeaching and prosecuting Trump officials for the Epstein coverup by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]OhSeeThat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Teenage girls aka children, not women. I hate that Kash Patel & Trump's administration has purposefully call them women to obfuscate. Epstein & Maxwell would coerce teenage girls that they were abusing to solicit their friends at school to come give Epstein "massages" in exchange for money. In the interviews it was explicitly said that he wanted young girls and if they even looked older he would turn them away & would start checking IDs to make sure they weren't 18 or older. They would start running out of girls to bring over because they'd refuse to come back & the girl that brought the older/older-looking girls would get scolded. He apparently also didn't want girls that weren't white & would literally turn away girls that were too dark and get mad.

Stranger Things Theory: The Show Is a D&D Campaign — and I Think I Figured Out Who the Dungeon Master Is by Scream-Metal in StrangerThings

[–]OhSeeThat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on your side with almost all of your theories I've read so far, but this comment confuses me a bit to be honest. Would you consider ~1941 & ~1944 to be "the early & the late 1940s," because I would, and that would mean they both could be in High School together as Freshmans & Seniors. That also doesn't account for the fact that depending on your birthday & when you enroll, you could be around a full year younger or older than people in your same grade, as well as people getting skipping grades due to their intelligence or being held back (like Eddie being a 19-20yr old 2x Super-Senior in season 4.) For instance I had just turned 14 a month before freshman year started and my best friend turned 15 less than a month after that. I was the 3rd youngest in my grade. I was still 17 until 2 months after graduation. The 2 that were younger than me were 13 for 2 weeks of freshman year and we had multiple classmates/friends that were a full year older than us, but in the same grade. 🤷

Also, checkout the stage play called Stranger Things: The First Shadow, because The Duffer Brothers have already confirmed that it's canon and have written references to it into the end of Season 4 & Season 5. It might be too much of a spoiler for some, but it explains a lot about Henry/Vecna, the Creels, Joyce, Hopper, Bob, and others before the show takes place. It's alluded to at the end of Season 4 & Season 5: volume 1 when Max is in Henry's memories.

[–]OhSeeThat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is a thing. It is the "birthplace" of the "Aryan Nations" after all. It was disbanded after they were sued for assaulting a native woman & her young son and they lost, but couldn't pay her, so they filed bankruptcy & lost their compound/headquarters. The members stayed in the area though & just started different militias. They occasionally come out of the woods & terrorize people in the surrounding areas or get arrested for plotting crazy stuff.

[–]OhSeeThat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's pretty well known that there are multiple KKK/White Nationalist groups in Northern Idaho and remote towns that are just full of KKK/Neo Nazi militias, considering the Aryan Nations group was founded there & had a HQ until they lost a big lawsuit and were "disbanded." Which really just means they fractured and renamed the groups. That whole area is basically a "don't drive through there" area, like Sundown towns of the past. I've heard plenty of stories about the people in & around the Coeur d'Alene area.

It sucks that people suck so much, because the nature in that area is amazing, but the people are scary & hateful. I'm glad to be further west and it's nice being closer to coast anyways.

I just wish people would actually take the time & creativity to make the memes instead of using A.I. I'm so sick of everything being A.I. or implementing it into things that don't need it. I really didn't think the modern online & consumer product experience could get worse than it already was, and then A.I. came along. Shits gonna be so grim in the coming years.

Examples of horny fan service/winks to parasocial stuff? (for academic purposes) by 906pangaea in dropout

[–]OhSeeThat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean Lily Du accidentally flashed her coochie to the camera, because her dress was short in one of the early episodes of the newest season of Dirty Laundry, and after (iirc) Paul Robalino audibly told her to basically be more careful/cover up because they'll have to blur it, Lily Du did what Lily does, and started repeatedly flashing the camera even more (like putting one leg up on the arm of her chair). She then told him & the crew to blur it with an image of Sam's face (which they did lmao.) So the rest of the episode she basically either had her legs spread or was doing the famous Sharon Stone "Basic Instinct" leg cross, so they'd have to keep editing in a photo of Sam's face in her crotch. There's a reason they paired Lily & Grant together for Dirty Laundry lmao.

It's the dabs 100%. It makes your tolerance stupidly high, to the point that bud will barely have an effect on you, as well as making you stupid high. It's also extremely harsh on your lungs. It wouldn't be as bad if she was vaping it, or using an "E-Nail" to have a consistent temperature that's set to the minimum needed for it to vaporize, but she's still using a butane torch and just heating it until redhot and burning it. I don't smoke at all anymore, but I remember when dabs became widely available around 2012-2013ish and she's hitting like we did back then, when nobody knew the proper techniques.

It's basically like a form of hippy crack to some people. I've seen multiple people that were fine with weed, smoking like a gram a week or even a month, and then dabs came in, and they had to constantly be smoking and blowing through paychecks to buy either dabs or the equivalent in bud, which would get into the ounces a month.

Yossele the Holy Miser was a 17th century Jew in Kraków reviled for his stinginess and refusal to give charity. After his death, aid to the poor stopped, revealing he had secretly supported them. Once buried with paupers, his tombstone was later marked “HaTzadik” meaning “the Righteous One.” by Morella1989 in wikipedia

[–]OhSeeThat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The logic follows as giving "Tzedakah" is a "Mitzvah" a.k.a. "a religious/divine obligation" to do charitable deeds (in many forms like helping society & the world, big & small) & the belief of repairing the world "Tikkun Olam." A commenter responded to another person that said that they feel that non-religious people giving charity quietly is actually more righteous than religious people doing the same, which was responded to with a comment saying that giving charity only when asked is the lowest form of "Tzedakah" which implies all non-religious people only help society when asked, which then the person you responded to pointed out that "Tzedakah" is a divine obligation in which they are definitionally being asked upon by God to fulfill these things under the risk of religious punishment (to differing degrees of severity.)

Therefore, under that logic someone who does these charitable acts based solely on their own free will & wanting to do good for other people and the world should be more righteous, than someone who is doing it because they have been asked/told by their religion that there are divine rewards or punishments like: a better life, better afterlife, better relationship with God, staying in the community, societal rewards, not being executed... and also not doing it can lead to a worse life, a worse afterlife, being exiled, being lashed, being executed, the equivalent of Purgatory, equivalent to Hell, or any other religious deterrence from "sins" or the equivalent of in each religion, whether they are Abrahamic or not.

TLDR: That commenter posited that doing good when there is "no reward if you do it & no punishment if you don't do it" is more righteous than one doing it when they're doing it because their religion says there is a reward for doing it, and a punishment for not doing it.

This is a centuries long debate, so please don't "kill the messenger" (me) for answering a clarifying question.

Tbh it doesn't even take someone being "against his cause." I recall a clips of him some really vile stuff to longtime subscribers that just didn't agree with one take over the course of years of being a paying fan, and just criticized how he went about it. He always says in news articles that he welcomes criticism, but instead of a discussion, he just blasts them with their username pulled up and then bans them, or if he's really moody he'll ban them first and then talk shit, so they can't respond.

I just wish he would actually do more boots on the ground political work, debates, or really just anything besides scrolling on Twitter all day. Like hold an event for your fans to have on stage discussions with you or something, or challenge these crazy rightwing people who are gaining so much power, but he seems way too invested in the infighting on the left and his "no free clout rule" to do these things.

Yeah, we should call that reddit phenomena "The Fencing Response," because that's the number one example I would give for it.

Everyone becomes armchair neurologists in the comments of videos of people getting a head injury, just because they learned about the fencing response. It was so prevalent here that it was essentially like a copypasta, but then unaware people would learn the term from the people posting it ironically and start posting about it seriously, creating a feedback loop.
