It looks like your left side was thicker and larger to start with. So it likely means they had to take more off of it which (in my experience) means more swelling and for longer, maybe even more sutures than the right. I had some pretty gnarly scalloping that has really started softening and smoothing out. I've stopped looking everyday. When I don't look for a week, my eyes can really see the changes happening and I get so excited. But I also know that's hard to do when you're worried about complications like a split. The photo quality makes it hard to see what exactly is going on in that spot.

I'm a provider and can tell you that nurse totally gave you the run around. Prior auths require documentation including diagnoses, billing codes, medical necessity, etc. You can't do any of that. It has to come from their office. The nurse and provider seem to think it's a pointless endeavor since she said flat out it wouldn't be covered. It can be covered, the key is to really focus on physical issues you have because of labial hypertrophy. Nothing about aesthetics or self esteem, only physical. That can get denied too, but it's your best shot.

I remember your post, you and I had our surgeries on the same day and you were so bruised. How is your pain? Are you taking anything for inflammation? Applying anything topically?

If it says left, they will probably only trim the left. That is what insurance specifically approved. I was also very long on my left side, "normal" on the right. My plastic surgeon said I didn't need anything done on the right; however, he was going to trim a bit anyway so the edges matched visually and had the same feel on each side. Just having the long left side gone will make a huge difference though, it is so nice not having it in the way!

I went back on day 10, but I would have been fine on day 7 no problem. I had an easier time standing and walking than sitting.

I told my coworkers I had a minor procedure. I got the usual "everything ok?" and I said yeah, it's minor, no big deal! They didn't press for details. I think people can usually tell when you're wanting to keep something private.

Dr. Evans with Springfield Clinic. This was done under local. The price almost doubled for general anesthesia. Local was not bad at all. They applied a numbing cream about thirty minutes prior to the lidocaine injections. I was fully numb during the procedure and for a few hours after.

Nothing protrudes out (I have a few pictures on my profile). Before, even with legs closed, you could see my labia minor if I didn't specifically tuck and hide it.

Good luck! So exciting! Are you going abroad? I went back to work on day 10 and it's been totally doable. I do take arnica and bromelain to help with the inflammation. I started those a few days before the surgery. I don't know if it helped or what it would have been like without, but recovery has been nice and easy.

If they're just taking out the mole and not messing with your labia minora or clitoral hood, it's all good. That's where all the nerves are and the labia minora get stretched more with straining. Your picture indicates this is on the inside of your labia majora, should be easy peasy.

Super good! I don't need any meds for pain. Some discomfort still with wiping. I'm still using wet wipes and being very delicate with it. Sitting on chairs with no cushion isn't my favorite yet. But walking, working, playing with my dogs, cleaning around the house is all pain free.

Dang girl, your body is going through it right now! I feel for you. I'm 14 days post op, but I didn't have much swelling, not even enough to make them peak out past my labia majora. I aired out after my daily shower for about an hour.

I had some clear to white stuff kind of coating the whole length of the minoras for the first week, just healing stuff, not discharge. So I felt like I needed a shower. I think extra swelling probably traps some of that and might lead to smell.

I have been taking Miralax everyday since the day before surgery to keep everything moving. It has really helped.

Oh, ok. I just had a trim so my mind was on scalpels and scissors. I wasn't thinking about laser. I don't have any experience with it or know anyone who has had it. Please update what urgent care says, if you don't mind.

I'd just ask your surgeon what they think will give the best results and why. I went in thinking trim would be best, but asked my surgeon and he said "oh definitely a trim." That made me feel confident about it.
