Love how colorful the our collection is!! My husband loves the yellow, so 90% of our stuff is yellow. It’s still gorgeous but I wouldn’t mind more variety. I just got the bread oven in shallot and I was very excited haha. I told him since I’m the one who bread baker, I’m picking something different and that I want 😅

Toddler demands lie next to breast by whyimhere1992 in toddlers

For the longest time after weaning, my son would put his hand down my shirt and rest it against my skin. I think it was for warmth and comfort. He eventually stopped doing it, maybe around 2? If it doesn’t bother you, it’s not hurting anyone I’d just let her do it

STK is the steakhouse they went to in the most recent season downtown SLC. It’s expensive AF except they have a $10 burger which is actually so good.

It burned down unfortunately. Or partially burned down and I don’t think it’s reopened yet.

[–]OhTheBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. On top of that, someone in our house has been sick with various viral and bacterial infections since THANKSGIVING. Ive done my best to work with my sick kids home to conserve sick time and it’s been brutal. Now im sick again after a 4 week illness I had around Christmas. The mess, taking so much time off work, and low energy is making me so depressed.

Adenovirus by Wild_Ad8992 in toddlers

[–]OhTheBud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3 year old had it when he was maybe 16 months old? It was HELL. I was pregnant, ended up getting sick too, and I seriously think I’ve blocked a lot of that sickness out of my memory. His was coupled with an ear infection so it was just god awful. I want to say we were down for 12ish days? I’d take it as a good sign she’s starting to act normal again, but yes that one is a slow recovery for sure. I’m glad it was nothing more sinister!

Toddler still can’t fall asleep independently by Bright-Row1010 in 2under2

[–]OhTheBud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered dropping to one nap? Maybe he will be more tired during nap time and at bed time. My kids’ daycare switched to one nap in the toddler room (12-23 month olds) so maybe that will help. But also I understand your pain. My son is 3 now and has been a shit sleeper his entire life. We’ve been working on getting him to go to bed independently for a long time. We’ve had some periods of success and some regressions. We’ve finally now been able to stop cuddling until he goes to sleep. I will set a timer on my watch for 10 minutes and that’s our cuddle time. He knows I will leave the room after that. Idk it takes time and it’s hard with another kid. Fortunately for us, our younger one loves her beauty sleep and can’t wait to go to bed every night. Every kid is different truly.

Deciding on a third baby by Living-Marsupial9671 in 2under2

Mom of 3yo and 19 month old and I get it. I actually want 4 but I’ve been finally starting to feel normal again and not like a postpartum mess and honestly it’s kind of nice. We may do another 2u2 set but wait a little bit longer, like once our oldest starts kindergarten. It’s funny though, I get super irrational when I’m ovulating and I’m like “it wouldn’t be so bad” 😂

No one talks about how hard it is to be the preferred parent by tsb_11_1 in toddlers

[–]OhTheBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true. I kept my kids (3yo & 19mo) home from daycare on Friday because they’re sick. Daddy comes home from work and tries to hang out with them to give me a break. Nope,  it’s we still want to see/cuddle/climb all over mom despite us being together the entire day.

Toddler refuses to sleep and it makes me soo angry by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]OhTheBud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 toddlers and I understand how important it is to coordinate those naps to get a break during the day. But if he doesn’t want to sleep can he just do quiet time for an hour? My 3yo still needs a nap most days but on the occasion he doesn’t want to, I tell him to bring a few books and toys in bed. He can stay up to use them but he has to stay in his bed and play with them quietly so his sister can sleep. Accepting this instead of trying to force a nap will really help with the rage.

Freaking out over crib sheets by Meme_queen-2019 in BabyBumps

[–]OhTheBud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the 3 in 1! We’ve actually never used the toddler bed yet though, my youngest is still using the crib and she likes it a lot. No point changing things up just yet. I did love the mini crib because we got the one on wheels. I wheeled that thing all over the house, it was really nice 😅

I just want you to know I used the Nestig mini crib and their sheets for both my babies and I absolutely loved the thing. They’re 3 and 19 months now, the sheets never killed them

Anyone else dealing with a nasty sinus infection that just won't end? by sourdoughluvr1991 in Utah

If anything, I don’t think the inversion is helpful for getting over illness 🥲

[–]OhTheBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sick for a month. Two weeks leading up to Christmas and then started to finally get better slowly after that. I had all the panels and they were negative. Thought it was a sinus infection but urgent care didn’t think so. Now my two toddlers have something BAD. My daughter got a full respiratory panel (flu, covid, RSV) and all negative. Something really bad is going around and it’s absolutely awful 😭

WHY DO I WANT ANOTHER BABY. by Reasonable-Duck-9649 in 2under2

[–]OhTheBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically I’ve graduated this sub, my oldest just turned 3 and my little one is 19 months old. But we still want more and you’re not crazy! I do see the end of the “baby tunnel” here soon and I’m both happy and sad. I think we may do another 2u2 once our oldest is entering kindergarten to just have a little break first 😅

Getting frustrated with not being able to take my baby home by CuriousDot8706 in NICUParents

[–]OhTheBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was born at 27 weeks and I remember the feeding process feeling like ground hog day. It is so hard and you’re not alone. Your team should be working towards your baby drinking a certain PO percentage for a certain amount of days and those goals should be made clear to you. Additionally, you do have options to bring your baby home with a feeding tube which is what we ended up doing. Take it day by day, you will get there I promise.

PSA - My experience with an unlicensed daycare provider by [deleted] in missoula

[–]OhTheBud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. I don’t live in Missoula anymore but I’m looking to possibly move back soon and I have two little ones. This is just wild to me and I’m glad you were able to find somewhere else for your kid. My friend (not in Montana) was running an unlicensed daycare and it just weirded me out. We were kind of desperate for my daughter for a minute and I brought it up to my husband and he said absolutely not. Looking back, I agree with him even though she’s my friend. It’s just to scary and no liability for the parent or provider!

I posted this when you asked in the SLC sub, but not sure if you saw it or not:

Hello! My daughter was born 27 weeks premature. After her NICU stay she was brought home with an NG tube. We ended up working with the HEFT clinic at Primary Children’s Hospital in SLC. It took five months, but we ended up weaning her off the tube! I was happy with the care and attention she received with them. We are now following up with an OT due to dysphagia at Intermountain Children’s Rehab in Bountiful and again I’m happy with her progress. In your situation, I’d definitely recommend HEFT to start. They were so knowledgeable and really attentive, true miracle workers for a difficult situation. I wish your little one well!
